This is a high ownership role and you will be responsible for overseeing the P&L, strategy, sales, operations, compliance and general management of the operations in the UAE reporting directly to the Group Chief Operating Officer or as delegated by them.
Responsibilities
- Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships and channels to expand market presence and increase revenue.
- Financial Management: Oversee the country's financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting. Ensure financial objectives are met by implementing cost-control measures and optimizing resource allocation.
- Sales and Marketing:
- Sales Leadership: Drive the country's sales performance by setting sales targets, strategies, and implementing best practices to achieve them.
- Marketing Strategy: Collaborate with the global and in-country marketing teams to develop and implement effective marketing strategies that enhance brand visibility and product adoption in the local market.
- Customer Relationship Management: Maintain strong relationships with key clients and partners, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
- Operations Management:
- Operational Efficiency: Ensure operational processes are optimized for efficiency and compliance with company standards and local regulations.
- Technology Infrastructure: Ensure the local office's technology infrastructure supports the company's operations effectively and securely.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Team Management: Lead and motivate the local team, ensuring high performance, employee satisfaction and professional development.
- Recruitment and Training: Oversee the recruitment of new staff and provide training and development programs to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Culture and Values: Foster a positive work culture that reflects the company's values and promotes diversity and inclusion.
- Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management:
- Legal Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with local laws and regulations, including labour laws, tax requirements, and industry-specific regulations.
- Risk Management: Identify and manage business risks, including market, financial, and operational risks and implement strategies to mitigate them.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary liaison between the country operations and the company's global headquarters. Keep stakeholders informed about performance, challenges and strategic direction.
- Public Relations: Lead engagements with the Ministry of Finance and any other government or quasi-government agency.
- Market Intelligence:
- Competitive Analysis: Continuously monitor the competitive landscape, industry trends and market conditions to adapt strategies accordingly.
- Customer Insights: Gather insights on customer needs and preferences to inform product development and customer service strategies
Qualifications
- Proven Executive Leadership Experience 7+ years in senior leadership, including P&L ownership, preferably as a Country Manager, Managing Director, or General Manager. Track record of scaling a business, especially in fintech, regtech, digital taxation, or public-sector B2B SaaS in the UAE.
- Knowledge of UAE Taxation & Regulatory Landscape Expertise in with Tax policies and/or VAT compliance regimes. Demonstrated ability to navigate public-private partnerships, government contracts or digital transformation initiatives with ministries or tax authorities.
- Digital Transformation & Tech Fluency Strong understanding of digital platforms, APIs and SaaS business models. Familiarity with digital systems, e-filing, or electronic invoicing frameworks is a plus.
