Freight Forwarding Sales Executive (Sea, Air & Inland)

Location

Cairo, Egypt

Job Summary

Responsible for acquiring and managing customers by selling multimodal logistics solutions (ocean, air, and inland transportation). Owns the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing and account growth, ensuring profitable business, reliable service delivery, and high customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Business Development
  • Identify and approach potential customers (importers, exporters, manufacturers, traders, distributors).
  • Build a strong pipeline through calls, visits, referrals, and LinkedIn outreach.

  1. Sales & Quotation Management
  • Handle RFQs and prepare quotations for Sea (FCL/LCL), Air (general cargo / express), and Inland trucking.
  • Optimize offers by selecting best routing, transit time, and cost structure.
  • Negotiate pricing and service terms with shipping lines/NVOCCs, airlines, and trucking vendors.
  • Ensure correct application of surcharges, free time, handling fees

  1. Account Management
  • Maintain and grow existing accounts via regular follow-ups and business reviews.
  • Upsell/cross-sell complementary services: customs clearance, warehousing (bonded/non-bonded), last mile, insurance.
  • Resolve commercial issues and support escalations to protect customer satisfaction and margins.

  1. Internal Coordination
  • Work closely with Operations/Customer Service to ensure smooth execution from booking to delivery.
  • Ensure documentation alignment (BL/AWB, invoices, packing list, COO, etc.) and timely shipment updates.

  1. CRM & Reporting
  • Update CRM with leads, opportunities, quotations, follow-ups, and conversion status.
  • Provide weekly activity reports and monthly forecasts.
  • Track performance against targets and improve conversion rate.
Requirements
  • 2+ years in Freight Forwarding Sales .
  • Good knowledge of shipping basics: Incoterms, documentation, routing, pricing.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Good English (written & spoken).
  • Ability to work under targets and manage multiple accounts.
