o Review the current SAP ECC and Ariba (SLP, Buying, Sourcing)landscape for SCP processes:Material Master, Supplier Master, Purchase Requisitions, Purchase Orders, RFQ/Sourcing, Service Entry Sheets, Goods Receipt/GRN, Inventory, Payments, OSDD/NCR/Bid Exceptions, NASL.
o Validate which SAP modules and components are in scope (MM, SD, SRM/Ariba, workflow objects, etc.).
2. API / Integration Design
o Identify and recommend appropriate SAP integration mechanisms for each dataset:ECC: OData services, BAPIs/RFCs, IDoc/ODP, CDS/views or table extracts. Ariba: SLP/Buying/Sourcing APIs and events/webhooks.
o Define the data contracts and fields to be exposed from SAP/Ariba to the Azure data platform for the above datasets.
o Ensure proposed integration patterns meet SAP and client standards for performance, security, and change management.
3. Support Azure Data Platform Integration
o Work with the Azure data engineering team (ADF, ADLS, Databricks, APIs) to: Clarify field meanings, relationships and keys for PR/PO/RFQ/SES/GRN/Inventory/Payments/NASL. Validate that SAP-side extraction and Azure-side models remain consistent with SAP business processes.
o Advise on incremental/CDC strategies from SAP ECC/Ariba where applicable (change documents, ODP, timestamp-based deltas, etc.).
4. Security, Roles and Authorizations
o Map relevant SAP roles/authorization objects to Azure RBAC concepts so that: Procurement, Logistics, Inventory, PR users and Enterprise users see correct data subsets.
o Ensure that document- and field-level access requirements (especially commercial vs non-commercial views)
are correctly interpreted from SAP/Ariba and can be enforced in the integration layer.
5. Workshops, Validation and Handover
o Participate in workshops with SAP/Ariba and business stakeholders to: Confirm integration scope and datasets. Validate that the exposed APIs support the chatbot use cases.
o Review and sign off on SAP-related integration design documents.
o Provide knowledge transfer to the project team as needed.

o Hands-on experience with one or more of: BAPI/RFC, IDoc, OData services, CDS/views, ODP/SLT or similar integration technologies.
o Solid understanding of PR/PO/GRN/SES/Inventory/Payment flows and underlying SAP objects.
Ariba Experience
o Practical experience with SAP Ariba SLP, Buying and Sourcing from an integration/API perspective.
o Familiarity with Ariba data models for Supplier Master, RFQ/Sourcing projects, catalogue PRs, and NASL (or comparable supplier approval lists).
Integration & Architecture
o Proven track record in defining SAP integration patterns for data platforms, reporting, or analytics.
o Ability to design robust, performant extraction strategies acceptable to SAP Basis and security teams.
o Experience working with non-SAP integration teams (e.g. Azure / data engineering) is a strong advantage.
Security & Authorizations
o Good understanding of SAP authorizations/roles and how they map to dataset-level and field-level access.
o Ability to translate business RBAC requirements into SAP-side and integration-side controls.
Soft Skills:
o Strong communication skills to interface with both business (SCP stakeholders) and technical teams (SAP Basis, data engineers, architects).
o Comfortable leading/participating in workshops, documenting integration requirements, and validating designs.
