Job Description SAP Senior Consultant (Finance / JVA)
Provide expert financial systems support within the Finance and Planning Group by leveraging in-depth knowledge of finance business processes and financial system architecture. This role plays a key part in supporting the
S/4HANA Finance Transformation, working closely with Finance, IT, and external consultants to ensure successful implementation, data migration, and ongoing enhancements. The role also provides first-level support to Finance and Planning users through requirements analysis, testing coordination, and training.
Job Context & Major Challenges
The role is primarily focused on supporting the
S/4HANA Finance Transformation Project, ensuring project objectives are achieved across system setup, data migration, and implementation. The consultant will act as a liaison between Finance, IT, and external partners while coordinating Finance & Planning activities.
Key Challenges Include
- Supporting concurrent project implementations and system design improvements
- Ensuring strong access controls and periodic access reviews
- Managing a high volume of daily operational support requests from business users
Key Job Accountabilities- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather and document business requirements for the S/4HANA Finance Transformation and implement required customizations.
- Provide Business and Functional input and manage Functional Specifications:
- Act as the interface between Finance & Planning, IT, and key users to support SAP transformation decision-making.
- Facilitate business reviews with key users and Finance & Planning leadership.
- Lead interactions between Finance & Planning and technical teams, including requirements gathering, issue resolution, and alignment on solutions.
- Escalate issues to appropriate governance forums when required.
- Provide financial subject matter expertise to IT development teams and support testing of developed solutions prior to production deployment.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Developers, Testers, and Production Support teams throughout the full software development lifecycle.
- Support and drive process change management initiatives.
- Ensure cutover activities are properly planned and that business continuity plans are in place during cutover.
- Coordinate Finance & Planning activities including:
- Testing cycles
- Training programs
- Data migration and reconciliation
- Other project-related activities
- Prepare detailed process documentation, SOPs, and testing documentation.
- Develop SAP training materials to support knowledge retention and deliver end-user training.
- Provide first-level support to Finance users for day-to-day system-related issues.
Person Specification Minimum Requirements Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline
- Internationally recognized SAP FICO Certification, including SAP S/4HANA Financial Accounting
Knowledge & Experience
- 10+ years of experience in financial systems implementation, including S/4HANA transformation, migration, and upgrade projects
- Strong knowledge of IT accounting and ERP systems (SAP)
- Experience in financial data reconciliation (master and transactional data)
- Strong financial knowledge across cost allocation, treasury, consolidation, and financial analysis
Technical & Business Skills
- Proficient in written and spoken English
- Strong computer literacy, including SAP and business software applications
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (complex formulas, analytics, data handling)
- Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience in process documentation (flow diagrams, Visio)
- Strong consultative, analytical, organizational, and planning skills
