Job Objective
The SCADA / Building Automation Engineer at the Plasma Donation Center is responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and compliance of the plant automation systems related to building management, HVAC control, utilities monitoring, and automated processes.
This role will support both the Building Control Module / Building Management System (BMS) and the automation of critical facility processes, ensuring safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operations in a highly regulated environment. The position will work closely with Siemens-based systems and control architectures used across the facility.

Key Responsibilities
SCADA / BMS System Operation & Optimization
- Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot SCADA and building automation systems across the facility.
- Support the automation of building functions including HVAC, utilities, alarms, environmental conditions, and critical process interfaces.
- Ensure proper performance of the Building Control Module and its integration with plant systems.
- Monitor system alarms, trends, and events to identify deviations and optimize system performance.
- Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities related to automation and control systems.
- Collaborate in the configuration, testing, and commissioning of Siemens-based automation systems.
- Ensure proper communication between controllers, sensors, field devices, and supervisory systems.
- Participate in root cause analysis of automation failures and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain system backups, control logic documentation, and change records.
- Support qualification, validation, and compliance activities in regulated environments.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure automation systems comply with facility standards, GMP expectations, and internal procedures.
- Maintain updated documentation including control narratives, P&IDs, logic diagrams, alarm lists, and system architecture.
- Support audits, inspections, and validation documentation related to automated systems.
- Generate reports on alarms, performance trends, downtime events, and system improvements.
Academic Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
Professional Experience Required
- 3+ years of experience in SCADA, BMS, industrial automation, or building automation systems
- Hands-on experience with Siemens automation platforms, PLCs, SCADA, or BMS systems
- Experience in process automation and facility control systems
- Experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, industrial, or highly regulated environments is a plus
- Good understanding of field instrumentation, sensors, actuators, and control loops
- Familiarity with commissioning, troubleshooting, and system integration activities
- Knowledge of GMP environments is a plus
