Job Description

The Scrap Trading Specialist is responsible for the strategic sourcing, purchasing, and

selling of various scrap materials, including ferrous and Non-ferrous Metal. This role

involves building and maintaining relationships with suppliers, negotiating prices,

managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with environmental and industry

regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of scrap trading

processes and market trends.

Key Responsibilities:

Sourcing & Procurement:

o Identify and develop relationships with suppliers, recyclers, and scrap

dealers.

o Source scrap materials such as metals (e.g., aluminium, copper, steel) at

competitive prices.

o Monitor market trends and pricing fluctuations to secure favourable

deals.

Sales & Marketing:

o Build a network of buyers and negotiate the sale of scrap materials.

o Maintain existing client relationships and expand the customer base for

scrap sales.

Market Research & Analysis:

o Keep abreast of market trends, supply and demand for different scrap

materials.

o Ensure proper documentation and traceability of all scrap transactions.

Compliance & Environmental Standards:

o Ensure all scrap trading activities comply with local, national, and

international environmental regulations.

Negotiation & Contracting:

o Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers, customers, and

third-party logistics providers.

Qualifications:

Experience:

o Minimum of 5 years of experience in scrap trading, recycling, or related

industries.

o Proven track record in sourcing, procurement, and sales of scrap

materials.

o Experience in negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships.

Skills:

o Strong negotiation and communication skills.

o In-depth understanding of scrap market dynamics and pricing.

o Knowledge of environmental regulations related to scrap and waste

management.

o Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Working Conditions:

Full-time position, Sunday to Thursday (specific working hours may vary).

Occasional travel to suppliers, customers, and trade events.

Office-based with potential on-site or field work.
