Joining Bidfood Middle East as a Seafood Category Manager, you will lead the development and execution of the seafood category strategy to drive sales growth, profitability, and supplier excellence. Based onsite in Dubai, this role requires strong market insight into the seafood industry, hands-on category ownership, and close collaboration with Sales, Procurement, Logistics, Operations, and Merchandising teams to deliver high-quality, competitive, and sustainable seafood solutions to our customers.
Role Overview
As Seafood Category Manager, you will oversee and develop the seafood assortment strategy, managing channel-specific ranges and ensuring the category remains competitive, profitable, and aligned with customer expectations. Your deep understanding of seafood products, supply chains, and market dynamics will enable you to optimize performance, lead supplier partnerships, and support commercial initiatives across the business.
Responsibilities
Category Strategy & Growth
Develop and execute category plans to drive sales, profitability, and sustainable growth within the seafood segment.
Manage the seafood category with channel-specific product assortments aligned to customer needs.
Identify opportunities for range expansion, rationalization, and innovation.
Market & Performance Analysis
Monitor market trends, customer demand, and competitor activities to maintain a competitive edge.
Analyze sales data and KPIs to optimize assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies.
Use insights to support forecasting, budgeting, and commercial planning.
Supplier & Commercial Management
Lead supplier negotiations, performance reviews, and cost management initiatives.
Build strong partnerships with local and international seafood suppliers.
Ensure supplier compliance with Bidfood ME's quality, food safety, and sustainability standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Procurement, Logistics, Operations, Sales, and Merchandising teams to ensure seamless execution.
Support Sales teams with product knowledge, pricing guidance, and category insights.
Coordinate promotional and marketing initiatives to enhance category visibility and performance.
Quality, Compliance & Sustainability
Ensure exceptional product quality, cold-chain integrity, and regulatory compliance.
Promote responsible sourcing and, where applicable, sustainable seafood practices.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Food Science, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years experience in category management, preferably within seafood or fresh food.
Experience within retail, foodservice, wholesale, or FMCG environments.
