Job Description

KEY RESPONSABILITIES

  1. Provide technical support to Operations Manager when needed, monitor the progress and profitability of projects, follow-up on the contractual situation of projects and report significant deviations/risks to the Operations Manager.
  2. Maintain good relationship with the clients at the managerial/executive level.
  3. Provide leadership towards the implementation of Quality, Safety and Environment policies and procedures at the branch and project level.
  4. Create a healthy organizational climate and culture so that people could perform to their full potential and overall business performance is maximized.
  5. Empower and motivate staff, provide vision and creativity, act as a coach when needed and promote learning and experience sharing practices in order to provide a platform for current and future business success.
  6. Review and discuss the look ahead planning with the senior/section engineer, organize, prioritize and assign the work to be performed to foremen and coordinate positively with other field personnel to avoid functional conflicts and ensure timely completion of work.
  7. Review and check on all drawings, specifications, method statements, material data sheets and any other information/requirements/documentation relevant to own area of specialty, report any miscalculations and provide the necessary instructions/technical assistance to subordinates to meet requirements.
  8. Identify and agree with the Project Director the planned productivity rate of the relevant section, monitor its fluctuation all through the project execution and take all the necessary measures to avoid exceeding acceptable limits.
  9. Coordinate closely with the Project Director, review, prioritize and validate the needed resources (people, materials, equipments, tools, etc...) to ensure work is completed on time and according to specifications, productivity rate and cost targets.
  10. Monitor the execution of work based on specifications/requirements/standards, review the QA/QC report, validate and assess the effectiveness of selected corrective measures and discuss with the Project Director any major/critical problem that could affect severely the construction work.
  11. Solve critical problems/discrepancies and discuss with the Project Director any possibility of modifying techniques/procedures/criteria in order to solve encountered complex problems.
  12. Carry out regular meetings that aim to enhance awareness at all levels as well as to identify adequate solutions for encountered problems/discrepancies and come up with improvement plans with regards to quality, safety and other project's requirements/matters.
  13. Liaise with the client/consultant's representative section engineer to discuss or defend any relevant construction matter.
  14. Coach engineers at lower levels in order to integrate them in the work and train them to ensure their continuous skill level improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Engineering Degree (Electrical or Mechanical).
  • 10+ years of experience on site.
  • High level of leadership skills with great concern for quality, time and cost.
  • Knowledge of the local market.
  • Mastering English languages.
