Senior Accountant/ Finance Lead Abu Dhabi, UAE
We are working with an international investment-focused platform seeking a Senior Accountant/ Finance Lead to take full ownership of the finance function for its Abu Dhabi office.
This is a standalone role and the successful candidate will be the sole person responsible for the entity's accounting and financial oversight locally. The role reports to the Local CEO and functionally to the CFO based at headquarters, ensuring alignment with group reporting standards across multiple entities, including holding structures.
This position requires a hands-on, detail-oriented professional who is comfortable operating independently within a regulated financial services environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Full responsibility for day-to-day accounting of the Abu Dhabi entity
- Preparation of monthly financial statements and posting of all relevant journal entries in NetSuite
- Management of expense allocations, accruals, and intercompany transactions
- Oversight of external service providers, including fund administrators, clearing brokers, auditors, and other advisors
- Review and reconciliation of trading activity, broker statements, and P&L
- Monitoring of bank and broker balances, cash flow, and collateral positions
- Vendor management, invoice processing, and payment execution
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes
- Preparation of VAT returns and assistance with tax reporting requirements
- Coordination of annual audits
- Support group reporting requirements across multiple entities, including holding companies
- Oversight of treasury and cash management activities
Candidate Profile
- 25+ years of senior accounting role experience, preferably within financial services or asset management; and/or
- Prior accounting/finance experience within an investment or asset management environment is a plus
- Strong understanding of management company accounting and multi-entity structures
- Familiarity with ADGM or DIFC regulations, VAT, and tax compliance
- Exposure to treasury management, fund accounting is a plus
- Payroll management exposure is advantageous
- ACCA/ ACA/ CPA/ CMA qualification or similar preferred
