Job Purpose
The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting financial control, reporting, and compliance activities for Floward's operations within the country. This role ensures that local financial records and statements are accurate, compliant with IFRS and local regulations, and delivered on time. The Senior Accountant works closely with the Finance Manager Country, local leadership, and the Group Finance team to support budgeting, cash flow monitoring, and internal control processes. The role contributes to aligning country-level financial performance with Group objectives while meeting local regulatory and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Control & Reporting
- Prepare and support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the country in compliance with IFRS and local regulatory requirements.
- Support coordination with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulators by preparing schedules and documentation.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of statutory and internal financial reports.
- Apply Group Finance reporting standards and support alignment of local accounting practices with Group requirements.
Budgeting & Forecasting Support
- Support preparation of the country's annual budget and quarterly forecasts in coordination with the Finance Manager and Group Finance.
- Track financial performance against budget and assist with variance analysis.
- Provide financial data and insights to support scenario analysis and management decision-making.
Cash Flow & Working Capital
- Monitor daily and monthly cash flow movements to support liquidity management.
- Track receivables, payables, and inventory balances to support working capital optimization.
- Prepare cash flow reports and highlight potential risks or issues to the Finance Manager.
Compliance & Internal Controls
- Ensure compliance with country-specific tax, regulatory, and financial reporting requirements.
- Prepare tax calculations, filings, and reconciliations in coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
- Adhere to internal control procedures and support the implementation of Group financial policies at the country level.
Stakeholder & Country Support
- Collaborate with operational and commercial teams to ensure accurate financial recording and cost control.
- Participate in finance-related discussions and meetings as required, providing data-driven inputs.
ERP & Systems
- Perform accounting activities within ERP and reporting systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred).
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data within systems.
- Support process improvements, system enhancements, and reporting automation initiatives.
Skills And Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CMA) is preferred.
- 46 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, preferably in a country-level or multi-entity environment.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, local tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting audits, statutory filings, and regulatory reviews.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred).
- Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in retail or e-commerce is an advantage.
