Position: Senior Accountant (VAT & Corporate Tax)

Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Type: Full-time

About Us: GoStride Ventures is a UAE-based firm providing accounting, bookkeeping, VAT, corporate tax, and payroll services to small and medium businesses across the Emirates. We are in an early growth phase, which means this is not a role where you will be one accountant among twenty. You will own client relationships end to end, work directly with the founder, and help shape how the practice runs as it scales.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Delivery

• Maintain books of accounts for a portfolio of SME clients across a range of industries.
• Prepare and file VAT returns and corporate tax returns in line with FTA requirements and deadlines.
• Handle payroll processing, WPS, and end-of-service calculations for client staff.
• Prepare management accounts, reconciliations, and year-end financial statements.
• Keep clients ahead of their compliance obligations rather than reacting to them.

Client Relationships and Growth

• Act as the main point of contact for your portfolio, handling queries with clarity and speed.
• Respond to inbound enquiries, scope the work, and prepare proposals and quotations.
• Identify additional services existing clients would benefit from, and grow those accounts.
• Join client and prospect meetings where technical credibility is what wins the engagement.
• Build referral relationships with corporate service providers, business setup consultants, and other professional contacts.

Practice Support

• Help refine internal processes, templates, and checklists as the client base grows.
• Report on portfolio status, filing deadlines, and pipeline to the management team.

Qualifications:

• Three or more years of accounting experience in the UAE, with hands-on responsibility for VAT and corporate tax filing.
• Experience gained in an accounting firm or consultancy, handling multiple client portfolios, is a strong advantage over purely in-house experience.
• A recognised accounting qualification (ACCA, CA, CMA, or equivalent), qualified or part-qualified.
• Working knowledge of accounting software such as Zoho Books, QuickBooks, Tally, or Xero.
• Excellent written and spoken English, and the confidence to explain a tax position to a business owner who is not an accountant.
• Organised, deadline-driven, and comfortable managing several clients at once.
• Genuine interest in the commercial side of practice, and a willingness to grow the client base alongside delivering the work. Formal sales experience is not required.
• Valid UAE driving licence is an advantage.
