Job Description
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using the company's accounting systems
- Prepare and post accounting entries across assets, liabilities, revenue, and expense categories
- Oversee the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of all financial transactions
- Prepare monthly financial statements including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, petty cash and cash flow reports
- Manage accounts payable and receivable with timely invoice processing and collections
- Review ageing reports and monitor cash inflows
- Reconcile all bank accounts and credit card transactions
- Support monthly close and yearend closing activities
- Prepare budgets, forecasts and financial analysis to support decision-making
- Monitor cash flow and identify risks or improvement opportunities
- Ensure compliance with UAE VAT and Corporate Tax filings and documentation
- Prepare audit schedules and assist with internal and external audit requirements
- Generate accurate financial and management reports on a regular basis
- Identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions and process improvements
- Recommend updates to accounting systems, policies and internal controls
- Develop and document accounting policies and processes to enhance governance
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure adherence to regulatory standards
- Perform ad-hoc financial reporting and accounting tasks as needed
The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
- Professional certification such as CPA or ACCA
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within logistics or freight forwarding
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting and UAE tax regulations
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as Sage 300, NetSuite or Oracle
- Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and perform under pressure
- Highly detail-oriented with the ability to work independently
- UAE experience is mandatory - candidates must be based in the UAE
