Job Description

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using the company's accounting systems
  • Prepare and post accounting entries across assets, liabilities, revenue, and expense categories
  • Oversee the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of all financial transactions
  • Prepare monthly financial statements including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, petty cash and cash flow reports
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable with timely invoice processing and collections
  • Review ageing reports and monitor cash inflows
  • Reconcile all bank accounts and credit card transactions
  • Support monthly close and yearend closing activities
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts and financial analysis to support decision-making
  • Monitor cash flow and identify risks or improvement opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with UAE VAT and Corporate Tax filings and documentation
  • Prepare audit schedules and assist with internal and external audit requirements
  • Generate accurate financial and management reports on a regular basis
  • Identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions and process improvements
  • Recommend updates to accounting systems, policies and internal controls
  • Develop and document accounting policies and processes to enhance governance
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure adherence to regulatory standards
  • Perform ad-hoc financial reporting and accounting tasks as needed

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
  • Professional certification such as CPA or ACCA
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within logistics or freight forwarding
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting and UAE tax regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as Sage 300, NetSuite or Oracle
  • Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and perform under pressure
  • Highly detail-oriented with the ability to work independently
  • UAE experience is mandatory - candidates must be based in the UAE
