Senior Accountant

Role Description

The Senior Accountant role at MYA Restaurant & Lounge is a full-time, on-site position based in Cairo. The Senior Accountant will oversee day-to-day financial operations, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and month-end closing activities. This role will prepare accurate financial statements and management reports, monitor budgets, analyze variances, and support cash flow planning. The Senior Accountant will ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls, and will coordinate with external auditors when required. The role will also collaborate closely with operations and management teams to provide financial insights that support decision-making and business growth.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in core accounting functions, including general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and account reconciliation.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial analysis, preferably within the hospitality or restaurant industry.
• Knowledge of tax regulations, compliance requirements, and internal control frameworks relevant to corporate and hospitality environments.
• Advanced skills in accounting software and ERP systems, as well as strong Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities, with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced setting.
• Prior experience in a senior or supervisory accounting role, with the capacity to mentor and guide junior team members.
