Senior Accountant

Our client, a shipping equipment company based in Dubai is looking for a Senior Accountant. The successful candidate will support the Finance Manager in overseeing daily accounting operations, financial reporting, and team coordination while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records.

The ideal candidate will have strong exposure to end-to-end accounting functions within medium to large-sized organizations managing annual turnovers of approximately AED 100-150 million or above, with experience in logistics, shipping, trading, marine services, or related industries being highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Finance Manager in managing the overall accounting function and daily finance operations.
• Coordinate and supervise accounting activities within the finance team.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Ensure accurate maintenance of general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Monitor cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance reporting.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, UAE VAT regulations, corporate tax requirements, and company policies.
• Liaise with auditors and support internal and external audit processes.
• Review financial transactions and ensure proper accounting controls are maintained.
• Analyze financial data and provide insights to management for business decision-making.
• Coordinate with operations and other departments to ensure smooth financial reporting and process efficiencies.
• Assist in improving accounting procedures, controls, and reporting systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, CMA, CA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
• 5-7 years of experience in a Senior Accountant role.
• Experience working in organizations with an annual turnover of AED 100-150 million or higher.
• Strong exposure to financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and operational accounting.
• Experience supporting and coordinating accounting teams.
• Knowledge of UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, and IFRS.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience within shipping, marine services, logistics, trading, or related industries is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
