About The Role

Location: DIFC, Dubai

Department: Finance

Reports to: Financial Controller

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Accountant to join our Finance team within a collaborative, innovative, and tech-driven SaaS environment. This role is pivotal in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, leading key close processes, and driving continuous improvement through ERP migration, systems automation, and process optimisation.

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with more than 3 years post-qualification experience, capable of operating with a high degree of autonomy while also guiding and coaching junior team members. This is a hands-on role with strong exposure to change initiatives and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Close

  • Take ownership of month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery.
  • Prepare and review complex journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and adjustments.
  • Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and integrity of the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers.
  • Support preparation of management reports and financial analysis as required.

Compliance & Controls

  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
  • Maintain strong audit trails and supporting documentation.
  • Act as a key point of contact for internal and external audits.

AR / AP Oversight

  • Maintain a solid understanding of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes, ensuring appropriate controls and accurate accounting.
  • Provide oversight, review, and guidance along with processing at month end close.
  • Support resolution of complex AR/AP issues and escalations when required.

Intercompany & Group Accounting

  • Manage and review intercompany allocations, recharges, and reconciliations.
  • Ensure intercompany balances are accurate and aligned with group policies.
  • Support consolidation and elimination processes where applicable.

Systems, ERP & Automation

  • Play a key role in ERP migration and finance system implementation projects.
  • Drive and support systems automation initiatives, improving efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Work extensively with Xero (experience preferred) and other integrated systems.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Provide guidance, coaching, and review support to junior finance team members.
  • Promote best practices, consistency, and continuous improvement across finance operations.
  • Act as a role model for collaboration, accountability, and professional development.

Required

Skill & Experience

  • Qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent).
  • 3+ years post-qualification experience in a financial accounting or senior accountant role.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and hands-on experience with GL, reconciliations, and close processes.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in a SaaS, technology, or subscription-based business.
  • Hands-on involvement in ERP migration or finance systems implementation.
  • Experience driving or supporting process automation and system improvements.
  • Strong working knowledge of Xero or similar cloud-based accounting platforms.
  • Exposure to group accounting and intercompany structures.
