We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with solid retail / supermarket experience to join our team. The role requires strong ownership of day-to-day accounting, inventory and costing control, and financial reporting in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Full responsibility for General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash, and Bank Reconciliation
* Review and control supplier invoices, GRNs, and purchase orders prior to posting
* Monitor and analyze inventory valuation, COGS, and gross profit margins
* Prepare monthly financial statements and detailed management reports
* Ensure effective cost control and expense monitoring
* Implement, maintain, and follow internal controls and accounting procedures
* Ensure full compliance with UAE VAT regulations and local statutory requirements
* Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning
* Coordinate closely with Procurement, Warehouse, Operations, and Finance Management
* Assist in internal and external audits
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
* Minimum 5+ years of accounting experience, with mandatory retail / FMCG / supermarket exposure
* Strong knowledge of inventory accounting and costing
* Hands-on experience with ERP and POS systems
* Excellent knowledge of VAT in the UAE
* Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
* Ability to work independently and meet tight reporting deadlines
* UAE experience is a strong advantage
