About the Role

inSylos is hiring a Senior AI Integration Architect to lead the design and delivery of an integration infrastructure connecting an enterprise AI system with external interfaces through a structured API and middleware layer.

This is not an advisory role. You will own the architecture from day one, lead a team of developers executing against your design, and deliver code that goes through rigorous CTO-level review at every milestone. If you need two weeks to form a technical opinion, this is not the right engagement.

What You Will Own

∙ Design the full integration layer architecture in Week 1 — every downstream decision depends on getting this right

∙ Build structured, authenticated API endpoints with request validation, rate limiting, and logging

∙ Develop the middleware layer handling request routing, data formatting, interface standardization, and error handling

∙ Implement security controls within a governance structure where the client retains control of core infrastructure

∙ Interface directly with the client CTO at milestone checkpoints and code review gates

What We Require

∙ Proven experience designing and shipping production middleware between a live AI system and external interfaces — demos and prototypes do not qualify

∙ Strong API design depth: REST and/or GraphQL, authentication patterns (JWT, OAuth), rate limiting, request lifecycle management

∙ Backend engineering fluency in Node.js and/or Python

∙ Database integration experience: query design, data persistence logic, abstraction layers against PostgreSQL or similar

∙ Security-first mindset — you treat auth and environment controls as architectural concerns, not afterthoughts

∙ Ability to present and defend technical decisions under scrutiny from a demanding senior technical stakeholder

∙ Clean code discipline: modular architecture, documentation standards, internal review before delivery

Strong Advantages

∙ Hands-on experience with LLM/AI APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic and Deepseek) — specifically consuming AI outputs programmatically in production systems

∙ Prior delivery under milestone-based commercial structures with formal code review and IP transfer clauses

∙ Familiarity with AWS

∙ Experience working across multiple concurrent products in a startup environment
