Job Description

Purpose

The Senior Automation Engineer will spearhead the design, development, and implementation of comprehensive automation solutions to enhance manufacturing efficiency, reliability, and safety across our ESP production facility. This strategic role focuses on transforming our existing manual operations through IoT integration, predictive maintenance implementation, and advanced automation technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare comprehensive automation plans with detailed technical drawings that include project specifications, equipment requirements, and cost estimates for IoT integration and predictive maintenance systems.
  • Contribute to new automation initiatives and projects, reviewing and communicating the impact on manufacturing efficiency and Lean activities.
  • Present automation analysis results and project solutions to technical leads, senior leaders, and clients, demonstrating ROI and operational improvements.
  • Develop robust automation and continuous improvement strategy in partnership with the Management Team and key business stakeholders.
  • Implement and support cultural change across the organization toward smart manufacturing and drive business improvement through automation.
  • Develop, deliver and support delivery of automation improvement change initiatives, focusing on IoT-enabled equipment and predictive maintenance programs. Develop and contribute towards automation standards in line with Industry 4.0 best practices.
  • Undertake manufacturing process analysis, statistical analysis for automation opportunities, and support wider digital transformation initiatives.
  • Lead, define and develop automation activities designed to improve performance, including planning and implementation of smart manufacturing solutions.
  • Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures and resolve problems through predictive maintenance and automated monitoring systems.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments of automated processes, IoT systems, and robotic equipment in the manufacturing department.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering; Master degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial automation with focus on manufacturing environments.
  • Previous Oil and Gas or ESP manufacturing experience is highly preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of IoT integration, predictive maintenance, and Industry 4.0 technologies; Knowledge of Six Sigma, FMEA, and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, ERP systems, and automation software platforms; Strong programming skills in Python, C++, or Java.
  • Excellent reporting, documentation, and technical communication skills; Experience with data analytics and machine learning applications in manufacturing.
