As we continue expanding our fintech stack, we are looking for a
Senior Backend Engineer who has hands-on experience building
digital wallets and ledger-based financial systems, ideally within the
UAE regulatory ecosystem.
This role is critical to the engineering team as we scale core financial infrastructure.
Role Overview
We are looking for a
Senior Backend Engineer with strong expertise in
.NET, Azure cloud architecture, and fintech backend systems.
The ideal candidate has
previous experience building wallet infrastructure, ledger systems, or payment platforms and understands the
regulatory constraints of financial systems in the UAE market.
This role focuses heavily on backend architecture, distributed systems, and financial transaction integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Backend Platform Development
- Design and build secure, scalable backend services for digital wallet and payment systems.
- Develop microservices-based architecture supporting high-volume financial transactions.
- Build and maintain ledger systems ensuring transaction accuracy and reconciliation.
Wallet & Financial Infrastructure
- Implement wallet services, balance tracking, and transaction processing logic.
- Design systems for double-entry ledger accounting, settlement flows, and reconciliation pipelines.
- Ensure compliance with fintech best practices for financial transaction integrity.
Cloud & Infrastructure
- Develop backend services using .NET and Azure Cloud services.
- Build scalable APIs and services deployed through containerized or microservice environments.
- Optimize systems for performance, reliability, and fault tolerance.
Fintech System Architecture
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to design financial product architecture.
- Implement integrations with payment gateways, banking APIs, and financial partners.
- Ensure systems align with regional fintech regulatory requirements, particularly within the UAE ecosystem.
Required Experience
Mandatory Requirements
- Strong backend engineering experience with .NET / C#
- Experience building systems on Microsoft Azure Cloud
- Proven experience designing microservices-based architectures
- Prior experience working in fintech products
- Direct experience building digital wallets or payment systems
- Experience working with ledger systems or transaction accounting models
- Strong understanding of financial data integrity, reconciliation, and transactional systems
UAE Fintech Knowledge (Critical)
Candidates
must have prior experience working with digital wallets or payment systems in the UAE market and understand regulatory constraints and operational expectations for financial platforms in the region.
This requirement is
non-negotiable, even if the role is remote.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with payments infrastructure or PayFac systems
- Experience integrating banking APIs, card networks, or payment gateways
- Experience with high-availability financial systems
- Exposure to compliance-driven fintech architecture
- Previous experience in startup or high-growth fintech environments
