We are seeking an experienced Senior Bridge Engineer to support the delivery of complex bridge and structural works on a major Roads & Highways construction programme in Riyadh. The successful candidate will play a key role in construction supervision, technical coordination, and quality assurance for bridges, interchanges, retaining structures, and elevated highway components.

This role is ideal for someone with a solid construction background and a good understanding of bridge design principles, enabling effective review of drawings and quick resolution of technical issues on site.

Responsibilities

  • Provide site supervision and technical oversight for bridge and structural works throughout construction.
  • Review and interpret design drawings, structural details, shop drawings, method statements, and construction sequences.
  • Monitor construction activities for bridges, viaducts, culverts, retaining walls, flyovers, and other structural elements.
  • Ensure works comply with approved designs, project specifications, codes, and quality standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections, raise NCRs where required, and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Coordinate between contractors, design teams, and multidisciplinary discipline leads to resolve site technical challenges.
  • Support the review of RFIs, material submittals, technical queries, and construction methodologies.
  • Assist in managing interfaces with roadworks, utilities, traffic management, geotechnical and structural teams.
  • Track progress, identify risks or delays, and propose mitigation measures.
  • Prepare technical reports, site inspection reports, and weekly progress summaries.
  • Participate in structural testing, load testing, and final handover procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering; Master's degree is an advantage.
  • 10–15 years experience in bridge engineering, with a strong focus on construction supervision.
  • Demonstrated experience with reinforced concrete, post‑tensioned, precast, or segmental bridge structures.
  • Some bridge design experience (or strong familiarity with design principles) is highly beneficial.
  • Strong knowledge of international design and construction standards (AASHTO, BS/EN, ACI).
  • Proven experience working on major highways or large‑scale infrastructure projects.
  • Ability to interpret complex structural details and resolve on‑site issues quickly and confidently.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
  • Experience working with major engineering consultancies or supervision teams.
  • GCC or KSA project experience preferred but not essential.
  • Professional registration/chartership (or working toward it) is an advantage.
