Job Description

Job Title: Senior Business Development Manager

Business Unit: Business Development

Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Job Purpose:

The Senior Business Development Manager (Sr BDM) is responsible for driving Aon's growth agenda in Saudi Arabia, with a particular focus on Riyadh and other strategically important markets. This role goes beyond individual deal-making to shaping market strategy, developing highvalue partnerships, and influencing senior stakeholders internally and externally.

The Sr BDM will own a significant revenue and pipeline target, lead complex multistakeholder opportunities, manage strategic client relationships, and provide guidance and mentorship to other business development colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development & Revenue Growth

  • Develop and execute a business development strategy for Riyadh and KSA in line with Aon's regional and global priorities.
  • Identify, originate and convert highvalue opportunities to meet or exceed annual revenue, margin and growth targets.
  • Build and maintain a robust, accurately forecasted pipeline using Aon's CRM tools, ensuring visibility of key pursuits and expected timelines.
  • Lead the full deal lifecycle for complex opportunities, including qualification, solution shaping, proposal development, negotiation and closing.

Client & Market Development

  • Build and sustain strong relationships with Csuite and senior decisionmakers across corporate, government and institutional clients in KSA.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, understanding client strategies and risk/people challenges and positioning Aon solutions that deliver measurable value.
  • Represent Aon at relevant industry events, conferences and networking forums in KSA to enhance our market presence and unlock new opportunities.
  • Provide structured market intelligence on trends, competitors and regulatory changes, and feed insights into product, pricing and gotomarket decisions.

Deal Leadership & Commercial Excellence

  • Lead crossfunctional pursuit teams (e.g., broking, advisory, operations, finance, legal) to develop compelling, commercially sound client propositions.
  • Drive development of business cases, pricing strategies and negotiation positions for major deals, balancing commercial value and risk.
  • Support key account planning and execution for strategic clients, including crosssell and upsell of Aon's broader solutions.

Internal Leadership & Collaboration

  • Act as a senior point of contact and escalation for strategic accounts and critical negotiations in Saudi Arabia.
  • Coach and mentor Business Development Managers and other colleagues, sharing best practices and supporting capability development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Aon's geographies and solution lines to bring the best of Aon to clients in KSA.

Governance, Reporting & Compliance

  • Ensure all opportunities are managed in line with Aon's approval processes, governance and compliance requirements.
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting on pipeline, wins/losses and key account developments to senior management.
  • Adhere to all relevant legal, regulatory and ethical standards within Saudi Arabia and Aon's global policies.

Skills and Experience:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, Engineering or related field required.
  • Master's degree (MBA or equivalent) is strongly preferred.

Professional Experience

  • Typically, 812+ years of experience in business development, sales, commercial or strategic partnerships roles.
  • Strong experience in the Saudi market, preferably with a significant portion spent in Riyadh.
  • Demonstrated track record of originating, leading and closing large, complex transactions and long sales cycles.
  • Experience managing strategic or key accounts with significant annual revenue responsibility.
  • Experience in insurance, risk management, financial services or related sectors is preferred.

Core Competencies

  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills; ability to translate market insight into actionable plans.
  • Excellent commercial acumen, including understanding of P&L drivers, pricing, and business case development.
  • Advanced negotiation and influencing skills with senior stakeholders.
  • Exceptional relationshipbuilding and communication skills in English and Arabic, both written and verbal.
  • High level of executive presence, credibility and professionalism.
  • Strong project and pipeline management skills; able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Selfmotivated, resultsoriented, with high levels of ownership and accountability.
