What you'll do:
As a Senior Buyer Private Label Fashion, you will own and drive the commercial and creative success of assigned categories. You will combine strong fashion instinct with data-led decision-making to build relevant, profitable, and trend-right assortments, while leading supplier relationships and mentoring junior team members.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead vendor selection and develop strong, long-term partnerships with regional and global suppliers
- Own end-to-end category buying strategies aligned to sales growth, margin, stock turn, and brand objectives
- Translate fashion trends, customer insights, and market intelligence into commercially successful private label assortments
- Perform weekly sales and stock analysis to ensure performance is tracking against sales plans and KPIs
- Review and manage delivery plans in line with sales targets, category mix, pricing architecture, and inventory health
- Drive pricing strategies through strong product, trend, and cost analysis while managing spend within budgetary requirements
- Negotiate cost prices, MOQs, margins, and improved commercial and credit terms to achieve target margins across the full product lifecycle, including clearance
- Maintain deep awareness of competitors, market movements, and customer behavior to inform buying decisions and product performance evaluation
- Attend regional and international markets as required to support sourcing, product development, and trend direction
- Proactively identify strong and weak performers, optimizing assortments accordingly and providing regular insights and recommendations to senior management
- Build and manage robust, preferential supplier relationships to ensure quality, speed, and on-time delivery
- Ensure timely and accurate stock replenishment in line with trading performance
- Maximize sales and margin through strong understanding of price positioning, target cost structures, and the impact of design and product specifications on profitability
- Coach, guide, and inspire junior buyers and assistants, strengthening both commercial and fashion capability within the team
- Collaborate closely with design, planning, merchandising, and marketing teams to deliver cohesive and compelling private label ranges
What you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Fashion, or a related field
- Minimum of 6 years experience in buying, merchandising, or a similar commercial role, preferably within private label fashion
- Strong fashion sensibility and high product awareness; candidates with a proven fashion mindset will be prioritized
- Solid experience within eCommerce and/or omnichannel retail environments
- Proven ability to manage suppliers and negotiate complex commercial and credit terms
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
- Strategic, commercial thinker with strong analytical capability and a critical mindset
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite (strong Excel/Sheets skills required)
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills to drive initiatives across multiple stakeholders
