Senior Claims Executive – Commercial Risk Claims

Aon Saudi Arabia is recruiting a Senior Claims Executive in the Commercial Risk department, based from our offices in Riyadh.

The role of the Senior Claims Executive is to manage sophisticated and high-value Commercial Risk claims across multiple lines, including Property, General Liability, Motor/Fleet, Engineering, Marine and Specialty Lines, from notification to final settlement. The role ensures fair, timely and technically sound outcomes in line with policy terms, internal procedures and local regulatory requirements, while delivering high-quality service to clients and brokers of Aon KSA.

What the day will look like:

  1. Claims Handling – Commercial Risk
  • Handle an allocated portfolio of complex and/or high-value Commercial Risk claims from first notification to final settlement.
  • Review and interpret policy wordings, endorsements, deductibles, limits and exclusions to determine coverage.
  • Conduct thorough investigations through loss adjusters, surveyors, engineers, lawyers and other experts.
  • Assess liability and quantum, setting and regularly reviewing case reserves in line with internal guidelines.
  • Draft clear and well-reasoned coverage positions, reservations of rights and declination letters where required.
  • Identify and pursue subrogation, contribution and recovery opportunities against third parties, contractors or suppliers.

2. Client and Broker Service

  • Act as the primary claims contact for assigned Commercial Risk clients and brokers.
  • Provide proactive, accurate and timely updates on claim status, strategy and likely outcomes.
  • Participate in client and broker review meetings and large-loss discussions as required.
  • Support renewal and placement discussions by providing claims insights, loss trends and lessons learned.

3. Market, Expert and Insurer Liaison

  • Liaise with insurers, adjusters, and other experts to agree claim strategy and settlement.
  • Ensure alignment with markets on complex coverage, liability or quantum issues, escalating where appropriate.

4. Quality, Compliance and Reporting

  • Ensure claims handling comply with internal procedures, market practice and local regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate, complete and up-to-date claim files and data within claims management systems.
  • Contribute to claims MI including large loss reports, loss analysis and portfolio trend reporting.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

Qualifications.

  • Bachelor's degree required (e.g., Insurance, Risk Management, Business, Law or a related discipline is preferred).
  • Progress towards or interest in professional insurance qualifications (e.g., ACII or equivalent) is an advantage.
  • IFCE certificate is mandatory requirement and advanced English language proficiency.

Knowledge.

  • Client service orientation with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple files and deadlines.
  • Problem-solving approach with the ability to identify issues early and seek appropriate mentorship or address customer concern.
  • Great teammate who collaborates effectively across functions and geographies.
  • High standards of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work proactively and take ownership within defined parameters and under the direct supervision of senior colleagues.

Skills and Attributes.

  • Solid understanding of commercial insurance policies, key clauses and claims processes.
  • Strong analytical skills, including ability to interpret policy terms, quantify losses and review documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Experience with claims, policy administration or CRM systems is an advantage.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English (spoken and written) is required.

Experience.

  • Typically, 5 – 7 years of experience in claims handling within the insurance or broking industry, ideally in Commercial Risk / General Lines.
  • Experience in the Saudi insurance market.
  • Exposure to Property, Casualty, and General Liability claims is desirable.
