Job Description

Mirage is currently looking for a Senior Commercial Manager with 1525 years experience (10+ years in UAE/GCC) and a strong track record delivering high-rise tower projects (AED 800m+). The role requires proven employer-side expertise across full procurement cycle, FIDIC contract administration, cost control, claims management, and final accounts. The candidate must be capable of leading commercial teams, managing risk, driving tender negotiations, and advising senior leadership to protect project cost and commercial outcomes.

Ideal Candidate Profile (Summary)

A top candidate will typically be:

  • MRICS-qualified
  • 1525 years experience
  • 10+ years UAE/GCC
  • Has procured and administered high-rise towers over AED 800m
  • Has run both tender award negotiations and post-contract change/claims
  • Can confidently advise the Employer board and protect cost outcomes

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or related
  • Postgraduate qualification (MSc Construction Law / MSc QS / MBA) is an advantage
  • Minimum 1520 years relevant commercial experience
  • Minimum 810 years UAE / GCC experience
  • Must have delivered at least:
  • 12 high-rise tower projects (40+ floors preferred)
  • Project value ideally AED 800m+ (or comparable scale)
  • Strong track record in:
  • Employer-side commercial management (preferred)

Highly preferred:

  • Experience on mixed-use towers (residential + retail + hotel)
  • Familiar with Dubai / Abu Dhabi procurement norms
  • Experience with projects under FIDIC or similar bespoke UAE-based contract forms

Procurement & Pre-Contract Expertise (Key Requirement)

Candidate must demonstrate strong ability to lead the full procurement cycle including:

  • Procurement Strategy
  • Tender Process Leadership
  • Contract Finalisation

Post-Contract Commercial Administration Requirements

Candidate must have strong post-contract ability including:

  • Cost Control
  • Valuations & Payment Certification
  • Variation & Change Management
  • Claims Management
  • Final Account

Contractual & Legal Competence

Candidate must be highly competent in:

  • FIDIC contract administration (Red / Yellow / bespoke amendments)
  • Contract interpretation and drafting of commercial correspondence
  • Assist in managing contractual notices and timelines
  • Dispute avoidance and early risk resolution
  • Managing legal/commercial interface with external lawyers when required

  • contractor commercial behaviour
  • cashflow and funding requirements
  • Running commercial governance with audit-level documentation

Typical UAE Employment / Mobility Requirements

  • Must be willing to be based full-time in UAE
  • Must be able to start within 30 (preferred)
  • UAE driving license
  • Strong preference for candidates already in GCC due to mobilisation speed
