We are seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Engineer to manage contractual, commercial, and administrative aspects of construction projects. The candidate will be responsible for contract management, reviewing contractual obligations, supporting claims and variations, and ensuring compliance with project agreements. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in construction and contracting with solid knowledge of contract administration practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, analyze, and administer construction contracts, subcontracts, and consultancy agreements.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms, conditions, and project specifications.
- Manage variation orders, claims, and contractual correspondence with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Provide contractual advice and support to the project management and commercial teams.
- Assist in preparing and evaluating subcontract agreements and tender documentation.
- Monitor project obligations and identify potential contractual risks or disputes.
- Support preparation of Extension of Time (EOT) claims, variation claims, and commercial negotiations.
- Maintain proper documentation of all contractual records, communications, and approvals.
- Participate in project meetings to ensure that contractual matters are addressed effectively.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in contracts administration within the construction or contracting industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, claims management, and variation procedures.
- Familiarity with FIDIC or similar standard contract forms is preferred.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with project teams, consultants, and clients.
Preferred:
- Experience working on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of contractual risk management and dispute resolution.
