Role Description The Senior Cost Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based at ABC Hospital in Al Jizah, Egypt. This role is responsible for analyzing and monitoring hospital costs, including procedures, supplies, labor, and overhead, to support effective budgeting and pricing decisions. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and reviewing cost reports, performing variance and margin analysis, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accurate cost allocation across departments and service lines. The Senior Cost Accountant will collaborate with finance, operations, and clinical teams to provide insights that support financial planning, performance improvement, and strategic decision-making. The role also involves supporting month-end and year-end closing activities, contributing to internal controls, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and hospital policies.
Qualifications

• Strong cost accounting skills, including experience with cost allocation, cost analysis, and cost control in a healthcare or similar environment.
• Proficiency in preparing and analyzing financial statements and management reports to support decision-making.
• Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide clear, actionable insights.
• Hands-on experience with journal entries (accounting), general ledger maintenance, and month-end close processes.
• Solid knowledge of finance principles, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Proficiency with accounting and ERP systems, as well as intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CMA, CPA) is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced hospital environment.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
