Your Mission
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be part of a team working on a client project. You will be supervised by a Technical Director or a Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery
- Lead the implementation of end-to-end data management, analytics and AI solutions, covering all stages from initial design through deployment and ongoing operation.
- Participate in designing and defining the architecture of data solutions to ensure scalability, reliability, and alignment with business objectives.
- Implement data solutions and define their operating rules, including initialization of complex functionalities.
- Take ownership of continuous integration and application integration aspects, ensuring smooth and automated delivery pipelines (CI/CD).
- Maintain overall accountability for the quality of delivered solutions, including technical documentation and adherence to best practices.
- Provide technical leadership and support to project teams, mentoring peers and enforcing development standards.
- Assist clients with setup, administration, and operation of solutions in cloud or on-premise environments, establishing methodologies and DevOps processes.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable, robust data pipelines using a broad range of technologies (e.g., SQL, Python, Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, Apache Airflow, Pyspark).
- Lead integration efforts to ensure consistency, accuracy, and security of data across multiple platforms.
- Collaborate closely with data architects, analysts, AI specialists, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective technical implementations.
- Optimize data retrieval performance and develop dashboards and reports for business consumers.
- Foster continuous improvement, innovation, and adoption of new technologies within the data engineering function.
Business Development
- Participate in pre-sales activities; involved in costing, responding to tender calls, drafting the technical part of tender in full autonomy.
- Identify new opportunities through client engagement and building client relationships.
R&D and Internal Assignments
- Assume responsibility for R&D activities in collaboration with the offers direction team.
- Contribute to technical knowledge capitalization to accelerate development, improve maintainability, and facilitate reuse.
- Test new software solutions from emerging vendors across various scopes to build new offers.
- Take part in management and organizational activities, including HR and offer strategy support.
- Mentor junior engineers, deliver feedback, and support their skills development through training activities and project guidance.
- Represent Apgar at external events, fostering thought leadership in data, AI, and digital transformation.
Your Profile
- Master's degree or equivalent, with at least 6+ years of previous experience in a consulting agency or an IT service company with a strong technical proficiency in SQL, Python, and big data technologies.
- Certification in Azure and/or GCP and/or Databricks is a plus
- Demonstrated experience with Databricks and Google Cloud and Azure.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD principles and DevOps practices.
- Excellent understanding of data architecture including data mesh, data lake and data warehouse, ETL/ELT
- Strong project management skills and the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in the leading large scale data engineering projects
- A significant previous experience related to one of our offers (MDM, Meta data, Data Integration and Data preparation, BI, analytics, ML)
