Responsibilities
- Manage SQL Server and Azure cloud databases
- Configure and maintain database servers and processes
- Monitor system's health and performance
- Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability, and security
- Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time
- Provide suggestions for solutions
- Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
- Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement
- Provide support for critical production systems within us time-zone/from Monday to Friday
- Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours
- Managing Backup strategy
- Tuning T-SQL queries to improve performance
Requirements
- At least 6 years of database administration experience in hybrid environments (on-premises data centers and Azure cloud platforms)
- Expert-level, hands-on experience with SQL Server administration, including implementing and supporting SQL Always On and Distributed Availability Groups
- Experience automating routine tasks using scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python
- Good experience with Linux operating systems and Windows Server administration
- Good knowledge in Kubernetes administration and container orchestration
- Good understanding of networking, storage, and security principles in containerized environments
- Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools
- Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO)
- Experience with backups, restores and recovery models
- Experience of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server and Azure cloud database service
- Experience with Windows server, including Active Directory
- Team player
- Good time-management skills
- Great interpersonal and communication skills
- Azure Database Administrator Associate certifications is a plus
- Azure Data Factory provisioning and administration is a plus
