The project:

This is an opportunity to work on one of the largest programmes in Saudi Arabia. This unique project consists of major mixed-use development including sports facilities, entertainment, and arts along with all associated infrastructure.

As part of Mace's delivery partner team, you will lead the multidisciplinary design of complex residential neighbourhoods and community assets from concept through to delivery. This role will suit an experienced design manager who can coordinate architecture, structure, MEP, faades, landscape, and infrastructure packages while driving quality, buildability, and programme certainty.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Lead safe, high-quality, and compliant design delivery, championing well-being, inclusion, and adherence to local regulations.

  • Oversee design management teams, drive strategic outcomes, and maintain strong client relationships.

  • Implement robust design management processes and support longterm business strategy.

  • Develop, mentor, and empower teams while promoting innovation, best practice, and business growth.

  • Manage the end-to-end design process across architectural, structural, MEP, landscape, infrastructure, and faade disciplines for residential assets and community amenities.

  • Establish and manage the design management plan, design responsibility matrix, deliverables schedule, and key stage gates (concept, schematic, detailed design, and IFC).

  • Interface between the client, delivery partner teams, design consultants, third-party authorities, and contractors.

  • Translate design intent into clear, coordinated tender/IFC packages support RFI responses, addenda, and bidder clarifications.

  • Support contractor pre-qualification, tender evaluations, technical submittals, shop drawings, and materials approvals.

You'll need to have:

  • Degree in architecture, engineering, or related discipline chartership (RIBA, ICE, CIBSE, PMI, or equivalent) preferred.

  • Knowledge of international codes/standards and regional authority processes.

  • Experience within a delivery partner/PMC model in the successful delivery phase of projects and programmes in the residential sector.

  • Knowledge of building safety legislation, building standards, construction contracts, professional appointments, and health and safety legislation.

  • Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.

  • Necessary visa criteria for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and relevant work experience working on high-valued projects/programmes for a project management consultancy business, which are required for immigration and client approval.
