Outline of Role
- As part of the team, you will be a key member in delivering the subcontract design of external faade packages for a diverse range of architecturally sophisticated buildings throughout the UK and Ireland. Reporting to the Design Team Leader, you will work closely with the pre-construction, commercial, and operational teams throughout the design, production, and installation stages of each project.
- You will interpret architectural requirements for the design, fabrication, and installation of building facades, roof lights, and fenestration through drawings and other related information.
Responsibilities
- Producing working drawings/designs in accordance with the specifications received from the customer and amendments agreed upon with the customer at the preorder stage.
- Supervising and monitoring the issuance of drawings and other design information by other designers and trainee designers, ensuring adherence to the relevant processes and procedures.
- Producing flashing schedules, procurement schedules, and cutting lists in sufficient time to allow for internal review and checking procedures, and to meet manufacturers delivery dates.
- Attending handover meetings to discuss the project, identify design areas needing attention, and clarify the scope of work.
- Producing and maintaining the contract file in line with design procedures.
- Keeping daily records of contracts worked on for weekly timesheets.
- Providing support to the Team Leader, Design Manager, and all members of the team.
- The Employer may also assign any specific job to the Employee that the Employer deems necessary.
