Job Summary:
The job holder is responsible for designing, governing, and validating the full enterprise architecture blueprint that will power one of the world's largest and most innovative mega-events. The position ensures that platforms, applications, integrations, networks, cloud, security, smart-city systems, and AI-driven technologies work cohesively to deliver a resilient, scalable, and future-ready digital ecosystem for millions of visitors, partners, and global participants.
Responsibilities:
Enterprise Architecture Development
- Develop and maintain the comprehensive enterprise architecture blueprint across platforms, applications, cloud, data, security, and smart-city layers.
- Translate strategic objectives into actionable architecture frameworks, standards, and reference models.
- Develop and maintain architecture standards, patterns, and principles ensuring consistency across all digital assets.
Solution & Technology Governance
- Lead solution architecture reviews to ensure alignment with enterprise principles and long-term scalability.
- Govern integration architecture, APIs, data exchange models, and interoperability frameworks.
- Guide technical assessments, RFP reviews, vendor architecture evaluations, and solution validation.
Smart-City & Advanced Technology Design
- Oversee end-to-end design of smart-city, smart-mobility, IoT, AI, and large-scale integrated digital systems.
- Develop technical roadmaps, capability heatmaps, and architecture maturity models.
Cloud, Infrastructure & Security Alignment
- Ensure cloud strategies, hosting models, and infrastructure designs support high availability, resilience, and global performance.
- Work closely with cybersecurity teams to embed security-by-design into all digital components.
Program & Stakeholder Engagement
- Provide architectural oversight to the Digital PMO and delivery teams throughout the program lifecycle.
- Collaborate with government entities, participating nations, and global technology partners to ensure alignment and interoperability and standards definition.
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or relevant
- Master's Degree is preferred
Professional Certifications Preferred:
- Relevant certifications in Enterprise Architecture / Digital & technology
Experience:
- A minimum of 14 years of experience in the Technology industry with 7 years of experience in a senior technical management role.
Nature of Experience:
- Proven track record of leading architecture for giga/mega projects or global-scale digital platforms.
- Experience in multi-layer architecture design for environments with millions of users.
- Demonstrated success working in complex, multi-stakeholder environments with government entities, global vendors, and systems integrators.
- Hands-on delivery experience in cloud, integration, telecom, smart-city systems, and mission-critical digital platforms.
Job Specific Skills:
- Deep expertise in enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman) and designing multi-layer digital architectures across applications, data, cloud, and security.
- FEAF, DoDAF, SABSA or NEA enterprise architecture frameworks are preferred.
- Strong capability in systems integration, APIs, microservices, and interoperability across large-scale digital ecosystems.
- Advanced proficiency in cloud architecture (Azure/AWS/GCP), hybrid hosting models, high availability, and performance optimization.
- Demonstrated experience designing and overseeing smart-city, IoT, AI, and large-scale urban technology platforms.
- Strong ability to embed security-by-design and apply cybersecurity architecture principles across all digital components.
- Skilled in evaluating vendor solutions, reviewing RFPs, conducting technical due diligence, and ensuring architectural compliance.
- Excellent stakeholder management with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to executives, government partners, and global technology vendors.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop scalable architecture roadmaps and maturity models.
