Job Description

Purpose:

The Senior Director, Tech Solutions ERP serves as the key figure responsible for the delivery, stabilization, and long-term management of the University's ERP ecosystem. This role ensures that ERP platforms such as Oracle Fusion or SAP S/4HANA are technically executed, managed and sustained in a way that supports both academic and administrative priorities while meeting financial, regulatory, and operational requirements unique to the University's dual US-Egyptian context.

Responsibilities:

ERP Strategy and Project Lifecycle Management:

  • Manage the technical execution of the ERP modernization initiative leveraging Oracle Fusion or SAP S/4HANA
  • Ensure that ERP configurations and workflows adhere to financial governance standards and regulatory frameworks within higher education
  • Act as the IT single point of contact (SPOC) and provide technical support to the ERP project manager

Enterprise Systems Management and Optimization:

  • Oversee ERP environment post-deployment, safeguarding operational continuity, data accuracy, and responsive end-user support
  • Monitor system performance, scheduling essential enhancements, and managing vendor partnerships
  • Define performance indicators to measure the return on investment (ROI) and system value delivery
  • Foster collaboration across digital transformation units and institutional stakeholders to maintain a secure, compliant, and future-ready ERP ecosystem

Technical Stakeholder Coordination and Interdepartmental Liaison:

  • Act as the central technical liaison between IT and university offices such as HR, finance, and facilities
  • Coordinate with functional teams and external vendors on technical matters related to ERP and digital transformation initiatives
  • Ensure integration, security, and compliance across systems while supporting technical requirements for business projects
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for resolving technical issues and facilitating communication on technology-related needs

Technical Change Management and Reporting:

  • Support organizational readiness by coordinating technical aspects of ERP adoption, including system configuration, integration, and technical enablement activities
  • Collaborate with functional leaders to ensure new ERP processes are technically embedded into daily operations
  • Provide regular technical status updates, risk assessments, and system performance insights to the Chief IT Operations Officer and senior leadership to maintain alignment with digital transformation goals
  • Administration and Procurement:
  • Perform essential administrative duties including the processing of purchase orders, supply requisitions, and expense tracking and auditing documentation related to ERP Operations
  • Undertake additional responsibilities and initiatives as assigned, in support of the University's needs

Qualifications and Skills:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field
  • Certificates in Cloud ERP Platforms, e.g., Oracle and SAP
  • Minimum of 12 years of related experience

Technical Skills:

Technical Domain Expertise:

  • In depth experience and certification of Oracle Fusion Cloud or SAP S/4HANA and a deep understanding of SaaS architecture and integration frameworks
  • Strong experience in project management methodologies such as PMP, PRINCE2, ITIL, or PROSCI
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and Student Information Systems is a strong asset

Higher Education Experience, preferred:

  • Familiarity with university structures, governance, and academic or administrative systems

Leadership and Strategic:

  • Proven track record in leading large-scale digital transformations, managing complex stakeholder relationships, managing organization change due to IT Transformation programs and preparing organization readiness programs for new and emerging technologies
  • Proficiency in financial stewardship and vendor management is essential to control project costs and resource allocation

Interpersonal skills:

  • Effective communication skills for executive reporting and stakeholder engagement
