Role Description
This is a full-time on-site office role for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer based in Doha, Qatar. The role involves designing, developing, and managing electrical systems and power distribution projects within the built environment. Day-to-day tasks include preparing detailed designs, drafting technical specifications, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, adhering to project timelines, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years relevant experience as an Electrical Design Engineer in an engineering consultancy firm
- Knowledge and experience in Electrical Design and Design Engineering
- Expertise in Electrical Engineering and proficiency in designing electricity-related systems
- Strong understanding of Power Distribution and related technologies
- Proficiency in using design and analytical tools specific to electrical engineering
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Relevant degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Professional certifications in electrical engineering are an advantage
- Proven experience working on large-scale engineering or infrastructure projects
- Involved in the design of Buildings Services for all types of structures including High rise buildings, Residential compounds, Commercial Complexes, Towers, Hotels and Mosques.
- design production of electrical, telecommunications , lighting and power system distributions.
- Preparing the relevant calculations such as short circuit, load flow analysis, containments, bus bars & cable sizing, and voltage drop calculation.
- Extra low voltage systems design, such as CCTV and Security, Public address and indoor sound calculations, Fire Alarm, Central TV (SMATV and IPTV), lightning protection & earthing system, Lighting and Dimming control systems, Home automation, Guest room management and electrical/ELV systems where is required and necessary.
- An engineer who performs multi-tasking such as design, drafting and leading a team of engineers and draughtsman. Familiar with international electrical and telecommunications codes such as IEC, NEC, BS-EN, CIBSE, NFPA, as well as GCC specially (Qatar) electrical regulations and requirements.
- Prepares technical reports, schemes, and bills of quantities, cost estimation, Carries out of Electrical works, drawings, and tender documents, Computer Calculations & Selection programs.
