WSP is seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team for a largescale infrastructure and buildings project in Riyadh. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing, reviewing, and ensuring the successful delivery of all electrical engineering works across the project lifecycle, including design review, construction supervision, testing & commissioning, and interface coordination with all stakeholders.

The role requires strong technical experience in infrastructure (MV/LV networks, utilities, tunnels, road structures) as well as building systems (power distribution, lighting, ELV systems, grounding, earthing, life safety).

Responsibilities

Design Review & Technical Oversight

  • Review and approve electrical design packages, drawings, reports, calculations, and specifications.
  • Ensure designs comply with project requirements, local codes, international standards (NFPA, IEC, BS, SBC), and WSP quality procedures.
  • Identify design gaps, interface issues, and provide technical solutions and recommendations.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary design teams (Civil, Mechanical, ICT, ELV, Architecture).

Construction Supervision

  • Monitor contractor's electrical works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, method statements, ITPs, and safety standards.
  • Conduct site inspections for power distribution, lighting, ELV, infrastructure cabling, substations, generators, UPS, and building services.
  • Review and respond to RFIs, site queries, shop drawings, material submittals, and technical deviations.
  • Verify installation quality, workmanship, and adherence to project specifications.

Testing & Commissioning

  • Oversee testing & commissioning activities for both infrastructure and building electrical systems.
  • Ensure proper functional testing, load tests, protection relay settings, and system integration.
  • Participate in system energization and handover inspections with contractors and authorities.

Project & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Participate in project meetings with contractors, consultants, and client representatives.
  • Follow up on progress, identify delays or technical risks, and recommend mitigation measures.
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders such as utility providers (SEC, NWC, Royal Commission, etc.).
  • Prepare periodic technical reports, progress summaries, compliance logs, and risk assessments.

HSE & Compliance

  • Ensure all electrical works adhere to WSP's HSE policies and PMC standards.
  • Support safety audits and compliance verification related to electrical installations.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred).
  • Minimum 1215 years of experience, with at least 5 years in the Middle East.
  • Proven experience in both infrastructure and building electrical systems.
  • Strong background in design review + construction supervision in a PMC or consultancy environment.
  • Solid understanding of SBC, NEC/NFPA, IEC, and other relevant international standards.
  • Previous experience with megaprojects (roads, utilities, mixeduse developments, large buildings).
  • Excellent communication, report writing, and stakeholder management skills.
