4FRONT is looking for an experienced IT/AV/ELV/Security Estimator to assume the role of Senior ELV Estimator for the 4FRONT Group.
The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in a senior estimation role at a systems integrator in the UAE and will be familiar with all major channel partners for mainstream IT, AV, and Security Solutions.
This is a techno-commercial role, based in Dubai, with responsibility for the Estimation team in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment, so previous experience in a similar setting is essential.
Candidates must have verifiable references and must be currently based in the UAE to attend face-to-face interviews, if shortlisted.
Role Description
- Establish and implement best practices, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Study, analyze, and evaluate tender documents from a technical perspective to identify risk factors, ensuring technical terms comply with relevant standards for overall risk assessment and bid decisions.
- Collaborate with the design/drafting team during bid/quote preparation to optimize methods and achieve cost efficiency.
- Review and finalize project cost estimates as prepared by Estimation Engineers, including required materials as per the Bill of Quantities, scope of work, and material/equipment/manpower requirements during the tender phase.
- Liaise with the Procurement Department to negotiate with approved vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors for various materials and services (pre/post tender).
- Finalize estimation of all direct and indirect costs and consolidate tender documents for management review and approval.
- Provide necessary project clarifications and information upon project award to the Project Manager, aligning with the approved project budget. Advice on contractual rights and remedies considered during tendering.
- Generate weekly tender status reports highlighting progress on active tenders.
- Prepare and submit monthly progress reports detailing tender wins/losses, including reasons, for management review.
- Provide strategic input in determining project bid selections, techniques, and approaches.
- Assign tasks to the estimating team, and provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and technical support.
Qualifications
- Proven expertise in estimation and costing for ELV systems, including CCTV, access control, structured cabling, and fire alarm systems.
- Strong knowledge of reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and BOQs.
- Experience with vendor and supplier negotiations, as well as managing procurement processes for project needs.
- Possess advanced skills in budgeting, documentation, and analysis for preparing accurate proposals.
- Exceptional project management, organizational, and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in relevant tools and software such as AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, and estimation software.
- Familiarity with market trends and current developments in ELV technologies and systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in the Dubai market and a strong understanding of local regulations and compliance requirements are advantageous.
