The role sits within the central Rotating Equipment Engineering Services team, providing company-wide technical expertise, governance, and assurance for major rotating equipment across projects and operating assets. The team supports project phases, operations, maintenance, standards development, vendor management, and digitalization initiatives related to rotating equipment.
The Senior Engineer, Rotating Equipment provides subject matter expertise and technical authority support for major rotating equipment throughout the asset lifecycle, including selection, design, EPC, testing, installation, commissioning, start-up, and operation. The role also supports maintenance strategies, refurbishment and repair of insurance spares, equipment upgrades, troubleshooting chronic issues, and performance enhancement initiatives.
Key challenges include managing complex, high-risk rotating equipment issues across multiple assets, ensuring compliance with ADNOC standards, optimizing lifecycle cost (CAPEX and OPEX), and integrating digital and predictive technologies to improve reliability and availability.
Key success factors include strong technical judgment, effective stakeholder coordination with projects, operations, vendors, and maintenance teams, timely technical decision-making as CTA, and measurable improvements in equipment reliability, availability, and maintenance cost optimization.
Key Accountabilities
Provide effective project engineering support for major rotating equipment during design, EPC, testing, commissioning, and start-up phases
Support operations and maintenance teams in troubleshooting chronic rotating equipment issues and major maintenance activities
Contribute to the development, review, and rollout of rotating equipment engineering and maintenance standards, specifications, and procedures
Support preparation and optimization of the 5-year major rotating equipment overhaul and inspection plans
Contribute to major rotating equipment CAPEX planning and budget alignment
Support refurbishment and repair strategies for insurance and reparable spares
Actively support deployment of predictive, analytics, and diagnostic tools for rotating equipment
Provide technical studies and recommendations for equipment upgrade, modification, and replacement
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor Degree in Engineering
At least 8 years experience Strong experience in major rotating equipment (compressors, turbines, pumps, drivers, auxiliaries)
Project engineering support across full lifecycle (FEED, EPC, commissioning)
Maintenance,troubleshooting, and refurbishment of critical rotating equipment
Knowledge of international codes, standards, and OEM practices
Ability to act as technical authority and provide risk-based technical decisions
