We are seeking an experienced Senior Fiber Network Design Specialist to lead the design of terrestrial fiber infrastructure supporting a submarine cable system and Cable Landing Station (CLS).
The role involves designing approximately 300 km of fiber network, including redundancy routes, civil infrastructure, and connectivity between the Beach Manhole (BMH), CLS, and SLTE/SLTP facilities. The specialist will ensure efficient, resilient, and standards-compliant network architecture for the submarine cable connectivity project.
Key Responsibilities
Fiber Network Design
- Design terrestrial fiber routes (approximately 300 km) ensuring redundancy and optimized network architecture.
- Develop detailed fiber connectivity designs, including fiber allocation, splicing plans, and routing.
- Design civil infrastructure including ducts, chambers, and associated fiber pathways.
Submarine Cable Connectivity Design
- Prepare engineering designs for Beach Manhole (BMH) infrastructure.
- Design fronthaul connectivity between the BMH and CLS.
- Design backhaul connectivity between CLS and SLTE/SLTP systems.
Engineering Documentation
- Produce engineering drawings and documentation using GIS-based fiber design systems.
- Prepare and issue engineering work orders and design documentation.
- Ensure all designs comply with telecom infrastructure standards and project specifications.
Network Optimization
- Optimize network routes based on cost efficiency, resilience, and operational performance.
- Support project teams with technical guidance related to fiber network design and infrastructure planning.
Requirements
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in fiber network design.
- Experience in large-scale fiber deployment projects (200+ km preferred).
- Experience designing submarine cable landing infrastructure, particularly Beach Manhole (BMH) design.
Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in GIS-based telecom network design systems.
- Experience preparing engineering designs and issuing work orders.
- Good knowledge of fiber network components, civil infrastructure, and duct systems.
- Strong understanding of network redundancy and optimization principles.
