About SOLARA

SOLARA is a fast-growing D2C consumer brand in home & kitchen — cookware, small kitchen appliances, and drinkware — selling across Amazon, Flipkart, Blinkit, Zepto, and our own Shopify storefront. We're scaling fast across marketplace and quick-commerce channels, and our finances have to keep pace: dozens of settlement formats, COD and prepaid flows, and a founder who runs the business off numbers he trusts. This is a senior hire to own the accuracy of those numbers and the systems behind them.

The Role

As Senior Finance Manager you'll own SOLARA's day-to-day finance and controllership — marketplace settlement reconciliation, channel-wise P&L and unit economics, cash-flow accuracy, and audit-ready books. You'll work directly with the founder, turn five messy payout files into one number he can act on, and use modern tools (including AI) to do it faster than a traditional finance team would. Hands-on and build-the-function, not review-and-sign-off.

What You'll Do

• Own marketplace & gateway settlements — reconcile Shopify (GoKwik prepaid + COD), Amazon, Flipkart, Blinkit, and Zepto payouts to orders; account for commission, shipping, RTO/RTV, TCS, TDS, chargebacks, and fees so booked revenue ties to cash actually received.
• Run channel-wise P&L & unit economics — contribution-margin P&L by channel and SKU; surface what's actually making money.
• Guard cash flow — receivables/payables ageing, COD collection cycles, settlement timing; flag anomalies early.
• Close the books, audit-ready — monthly close, provisions, GST/TDS reconciliation, clean schedules that tie out for Big-4 diligence.
• Build systems — tighten controls and reporting in our ERP and automate the repetitive work.
• Put AI to work — accelerate reconciliation, MIS, and analysis with AI, and know where to trust it and where not to.
• Partner with the founder — deliver the number, the reason behind it, and the decision it points to.

What You Bring

• 7+ years in finance/accounting/controllership with real ownership of the numbers (CA / MBA-Finance / CMA a plus, not mandatory if the experience is there).
• D2C brand and/or retail/e-commerce experience — marketplace settlements, COD, RTO, channel economics from the inside.
• Hands-on marketplace settlement reconciliation — personally tied gross orders to net payouts, not just supervised it.
• Expert-level Excel — complex models, lookups, pivots, dynamic arrays.
• Genuine AI fluency — you actively use ChatGPT/Claude/Copilot/scripting and can show what you've automated.
• Strong grip on Indian accounting, GST, TDS; ERP experience (SAP) an advantage.
