Senior Full-stack Engineer

Job Description - 6 month initial contract (onsite Abu Dhabi)

We're partnering with a leading AI organisation delivering large-scale AI transformation programmes within a highly secure and mission-critical environment.

We're looking for an experienced Senior Full-stack Engineer to build production-grade applications that combine modern frontend experiences with secure, scalable backend services. You'll work alongside AI Engineers, Data Scientists and Product teams to develop enterprise AI platforms powered by Large Language Models (LLMs).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop modern web applications using React or Next.js.
• Build secure backend services using Python (FastAPI/Django), Node.js, Go or Java.
• Develop AI-powered interfaces including chat applications with streaming responses.
• Design orchestration services for AI agent workflows.
• Build secure integrations with enterprise platforms including SAP.
• Develop Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) services using vector databases.
• Create dashboards and interactive data visualisations.
• Design and maintain REST APIs, gRPC services and API gateways.
• Implement authentication, RBAC and enterprise-grade security controls.
• Deploy and optimise applications using Docker and Kubernetes within on-premise environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver production-ready software.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience in Full-stack Software Engineering.
• Strong commercial experience with React and/or Next.js.
• Expert knowledge of TypeScript and JavaScript.
• Strong backend development experience using Python (FastAPI or Django).
• Experience with Node.js, Go or Java.
• Experience building REST APIs and microservices.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience building or integrating AI/LLM applications into production.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Desirable

• Experience integrating SAP or other ERP platforms.
• Knowledge of Weaviate, Milvus or other vector databases.
• Experience with WebSockets or Server-Sent Events (SSE).
• Familiarity with Kong, NGINX or API Gateway technologies.
• Experience within Defence, Aerospace, FinTech, Healthcare or other highly regulated industries.
