Position Overview

The Senior HR Specialist is a strategic and hands-on HR professional responsible for supporting key human resources functions, driving employee engagement, and ensuring the organization's HR policies and practices support business goals. This role partners closely with leadership, managers, and employees to deliver high-quality HR services, oversee complex employee relations issues, and implement initiatives that strengthen organizational performance.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations & Performance Management

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on HR policies, employee relations matters, and workplace issues.
  • Conduct thorough and impartial investigations; provide recommendations and action plans.
  • Guide managers through performance management processes, including goal setting, coaching, corrective actions, and performance reviews.

Talent Management & Recruitment Support

  • Collaborate with talent acquisition teams to ensure an effective recruitment workflow and a positive candidate experience.
  • Support workforce planning, succession planning, and internal mobility initiatives.
  • Participate in onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure smooth transitions.

Compliance & Policy Management

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Develop, update, and communicate HR policies, procedures, and handbooks.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and documentation.

HR Programs & Strategy

  • Assist in designing and implementing HR programs related to employee engagement, recognition, DEI, and retention.
  • Support compensation and benefits analysis, benchmarking, and annual review processes.
  • Participate in organization-wide HR projects, process improvements, and change-management initiatives.

Training & Development

  • Identify training needs; support the delivery of employee development programs.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers and staff to improve HR capability across the organization.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience; experience in employee relations or HR generalist roles strongly preferred.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR) are a plus.

  • Excellent communication, conflict-resolution, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust and influence at all levels of the organization.
