Job Title: IT Infrastructure Engineer

Job Summary
The IT Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the installation, configuration, administration, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, virtualization platforms, firewalls, and network switches. The role ensures high availability, performance, and security of critical systems that support business operations and digital services.
Key Responsibilities
1. Server & Virtualization Management
Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers (Windows/Linux).
Manage VMware infrastructure (vCenter, ESXi hosts, clusters, templates, snapshots).
Monitor server performance, capacity, and resource utilization.
Perform regular patching, upgrades, and system backups.
Implement disaster recovery and business continuity procedures.
2. Storage & Backup Administration
Manage enterprise storage systems (SAN/NAS) and RAID configurations.
Allocate and optimize storage capacity across virtual environments and applications.
Monitor storage performance, replication, and backup jobs.
Perform data recovery and ensure data protection best practices.
Coordinate with vendors for firmware and hardware maintenance.
3. Network & Security
Configure and maintain network switches, VLANs, trunking, and routing protocols.
Administer firewall policies, VPNs, and network security rules.
Monitor network traffic and address performance or security issues.
Participate in network design, segmentation, and access control planning.
Troubleshoot network connectivity problems across layers.
4. System Monitoring & Troubleshooting
Proactively monitor system health using standard tools (e.g., Zabbix, SolarWinds, PRTG).
Respond to and resolve infrastructure-related incidents within SLA.
Analyze root causes and implement permanent fixes.
Document configurations, procedures, and changes.
5. IT Projects & Support
Support IT infrastructure projects such as data center, virtualization environments , or security enhancements.
Collaborate with application, database, and cybersecurity teams.
Ensure compliance with IT policies and security standards.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Equivalent experience may be considered.
Experience
23 years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure administration.
Proven experience with VMware (vCenter, ESXi) and enterprise storage systems.
Strong background in network and firewall management (Fortinet, Huawei, or similar).
Experience with Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, and backup solutions.
Technical Skills
Virtualization: VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi
Storage: SAN/NAS, RAID, backup/replication tools
Networking: TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, VPN
Firewalls: FortiGate, Huawei, or similar
OS: Windows Server, Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu)
Monitoring: PRTG, Zabbix, SolarWinds
Soft Skills
Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
