Job Scope
The Senior Internal Auditor is responsible for planning and executing internal audits across the company. The role involves independently assessing internal controls, identifying key business risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing actionable recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and governance. The Senior Internal Auditor also supports audit planning and may supervise junior team members during assignments.
Key Accountabilities
- Audit Planning & Execution
Plan and execute risk-based internal audit assignments across business units to evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, ensuring audits are completed within agreed timelines and in accordance with approved audit programs and professional standards.
- Risk & Control Assessment
Assess key operational, financial, and compliance risks by reviewing processes, conducting walkthroughs, and performing substantive and control testing to identify control gaps and areas of exposure.
- Audit Fieldwork Leadership
Lead audit fieldwork activities including data analysis, interviews, sampling, and documentation review to
ensure sufficient and appropriate audit evidence is obtained to support findings.
- Reporting & Recommendations
Prepare clear, structured audit reports outlining observations, root causes, risk implications, and practical
recommendations to support management in strengthening governance and control frameworks.
- Follow-up & Issue Tracking
Monitor and follow up on the implementation of agreed corrective actions to ensure timely resolution of
audit findings and reduction of identified risks.
- Compliance & Regulatory Assurance
Evaluate adherence to company policies, internal procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements to ensure operational and financial compliance.
- Audit Documentation & Quality Assurance
Ensure all audit working papers are properly documented, organized, and compliant with internal audit methodology and professional standards.
Build effective working relationships with department heads and process owners to facilitate audit
activities and promote a culture of risk awareness and internal control.
- Continuous Improvement & Advisory Support
Provide advisory input on process improvements, internal controls, and risk mitigation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and governance practices
Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, Finance, or related fields.
Strong understanding of basic auditing principles and procedures.
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and familiarity with audit software is a plus.
Minimum Experience
35 years of experience in internal audit preferably from banking sector or consumer finance sector
Experience in risk-based auditing and internal control assessment.

Excellent attention to detail and ability to organize and manage multiple tasks.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
