Key Accountabilities
- Lead the development and drafting of an appropriate Legislation, Policy framework for the Authority, while ensuring implementation is in alignment with local and federal legislation and international standards governing 8 principles of Dubai and to provide advice and commentary on legislative matters which impact the Authority, master developers and the free zone.
- Oversee and assure that the implementation and independent enforcement of applicable AML/CFT laws, regulations and policies in the free zone, in line
with the requirements and recommendations of the international advisory body (FATF).
- Manage the preparation of guidelines on new federal and local legislation impacting the Authority, the jurisdiction, master developers and other stakeholders.
- Benchmark new and/or updated legislation, laws and regulations of other jurisdictions in the UAE and internationally to recommend changes to the regulatory framework of the Authority.
- Govern the preparation of requests for legal opinion from the relevant governmental committee on the application of legislation in the zone and ensure outcomes are documented accordingly.
- Provide comprehensive advice on legal, regulatory, corporate, civil, and governance related matters to secure the Authority and its affiliates / subsidiaries against legal exposure and liability and offer sound legal risk assessment.
Minimum Qualifications And Experience
- A Bachelor's Degree in Law; Master's of Law an added value
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role with at least 5 years of Management experience.
