Overview
We are seeking a strategic and data-driven Senior Manager - Commercial Planning & Pricing to build and lead this new, critical function from the ground up. This high-impact, high-visibility role is essential to our success, created to provide the strategic insights needed to navigate our post-merger integration, new revenue streams, and heightened shareholder expectations.
You will be the central nervous system for our commercial strategy, responsible for strengthening revenue planning, optimizing profitability, and ensuring data-driven decision-making across both Tradeling and Axiom. This is a unique opportunity to build a best-in-class function that directly fuels our path to profitability and ensures our sustained, profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Revenue Planning & Forecasting
- Build, own, and execute the end-to-end revenue planning and forecasting framework for both Tradeling and Axiom, ensuring plans are realistic, achievable, and aligned with corporate targets.
- Develop detailed revenue breakdowns by horizontal (SKUs, brands, customer segments) and vertical (digital, retail, omnichannel) segments.
- Pricing, Profitability & Optimization
- Lead all pricing and promotion strategies, analyzing structures to maximize sales and profitability while maintaining a competitive edge.
- Conduct deep-dive profitability analysis (by project, product, channel, and customer) to identify key revenue drivers and develop action plans for underperforming segments.
- Conduct gap analyses to boost revenue and margins, and assess the financial viability of new business opportunities to drive sustainable growth.
- Performance Management & KPIs
- Design, track, and analyze granular KPIs (daily, weekly, monthly) to monitor commercial performance, identify gaps, and hold teams accountable to targets.
- Establish performance benchmarks and create a robust performance management dashboard for the leadership team.
- Sales Incentive & Bonus Policy
- Redesign, implement, and manage a new, data-driven Bonus & Incentive Policy for all commercial teams, ensuring incentives are directly linked to realized revenue and strategic objectives.
- Data-Driven Strategy & Analytics
- Champion data-driven decision-making by providing the leadership team with actionable insights on customer segmentation, Lifetime Value (CLV), Acquisition Cost (CAC), and market trends.
- Serve as the commercial finance lead on new business ventures, conducting feasibility analyses and building financial models for market expansions, new revenue streams, and strategic partnerships.
- Procurement & Buying Collaboration
- Collaborate with procurement teams to set optimal buying budgets, develop inventory strategies, and track rebates/discounts to improve margins and cash flow.
- Project Management
- Manage strategic projects related to the commercial domain, from building and launching new business models to ensuring their successful transition to the business teams.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 8-10+ years of progressive experience in commercial planning, pricing, revenue management, or commercial finance, preferably within a high-growth e-commerce, retail, or tech industry.
- Leadership: Proven experience building and leading a team or function from scratch. A true builder mentality.
- Analytical Horsepower: Expert-level data analysis and financial modeling skills. You must be able to personally go deep into the data.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with SQL, BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), and advanced Excel is essential.
- Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with a proven ability to partner with and challenge C-level executives and commercial leaders.
- Resilience: Thrives in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment. Experience in a post-merger or startup/scale-up setting is a significant plus.
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related quantitative field.
