Senior Manager, Data Engineering Office

Job Purpose

Lead the Data Engineering Office to ensure that enterprise data is structured, reliable, and accessible to support informed decision-making across SOPC. The role is responsible for establishing scalable data pipelines, governing data quality and integration across systems such as SAP and other enterprise platforms and enabling advanced analytics capabilities.

The Senior Manager works closely with business and technology stakeholders to translate operational needs into data solutions, ensuring that data assets support performance insights, operational efficiency, and strategic initiatives across the organization.

Job Specific Accountabilities

Data Engineering & Architecture

• Lead the design and implementation of scalable data architectures, pipelines, and integration frameworks that enable efficient data processing and accessibility across enterprise platforms.
• Oversee the aggregation, cleansing, transformation, and structuring of data from multiple systems (e.g., SAP, ITSM platforms, athlete performance systems, and other digital platforms).
• Ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of data infrastructure to support analytics, reporting, and AI initiatives.
• Establish best practices and standards for data engineering, including data modeling, pipeline automation, and platform optimization.
  
  

Enterprise Data Integration

• Manage the integration of data across internal systems and digital platforms to ensure consistent and unified enterprise datasets.
• Collaborate with technology teams to ensure seamless data connectivity between applications and enterprise systems.
• Ensure that enterprise data assets are structured in a way that supports advanced analytics, dashboards, and reporting requirements.
  
  

Data Governance & Quality

• Establish and enforce data governance frameworks, including data standards, metadata management, data lineage, and quality monitoring.
• Ensure that enterprise data practices comply with cybersecurity, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
• Implement processes for continuous monitoring and improvement of data quality, reliability, and accessibility across systems.
  
  

Analytics & Data Science Enablement

• Enable the development of predictive analytics and AI-driven models that support operational and strategic decision-making.
• Work with data analysts and business stakeholders to translate operational questions into structured datasets and analytical outputs.
• Support initiatives that leverage data science tools to improve forecasting, performance insights, and operational optimization.
  
  

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Partner with key functions across SOPC (e.g., SMO, SOTC, IT, GRC, and Shared Services) to identify data requirements and deliver meaningful insights.
• Translate business requirements into technical data solutions that support departmental objectives and organizational priorities.
• Provide guidance to leadership on how data and analytics can enhance operational effectiveness and decision-making.
  
  

Leadership & Capability Development

• Lead and develop the Data Engineering Office team, ensuring the availability of technical expertise and continuous capability growth.
• Promote a data-driven culture by supporting teams in understanding and effectively utilizing data insights.
• Ensure alignment between digital transformation initiatives and enterprise data strategy.
