Job Description

Reed Recruitment Middle East is currently looking for Senior Manager -Ecommerce and Marketplace for Dubai Location.

Purpose of the Role:

The Senior Manager E- commerce is fully accountable for the end-to-end commercial performance, P&L delivery, and scalable growth of the Group's e-commerce and marketplace business.

The role leads E-Commerce technology, CMS, and last-mile operations, and works in strong strategic alignment with Digital & Offline Marketing team to drive profitable traffic and conversion growth.

1. E-commerce P&L ownership

  • Own full E-commerce and marketplace P&L (revenue, gross margin, contribution margin)
  • Deliver annual and quarterly revenue and profitability targets
  • Develop commercial forecasts, budgeting, and demand planning
  • Identify and unlock new revenue streams (bundling, exclusives, drops, marketplace growth)
  • Drive key commercial levers: traffic, conversion rate, AOV, repeat rate, CLV
  • Provide structured performance dashboards and business updates to leadership

2. Marketplace Strategy and Expansion

  • Identify, onboard, develop and execute marketplace expansion strategy across Saudi Arabia, India, and GCC markets for our in-house brands
  • Own pricing strategy, assortment planning along with the brand managers, and overall marketplace profitability
  • Build scalable cross-border/local fulfilment models
  • Ensure compliance with operational, financial, and regulatory frameworks in the respective countries

3. E-commerce Technology and Platform Governance

  • Lead the E-commerce technology roadmap in partnership with the E-commerce Tech team constituting the internal and external engineering team
  • Oversee CMS governance, on-site merchandising, catalog management, and site optimization
  • Drive enhancements in UX, site speed, search, personalization, and checkout performance
  • Constantly validating and improving integration between frontend, backend systems, ERP, and marketing platforms

4. Operations and Last-Mile Excellence

  • Oversee fulfilment operations and last-mile delivery performance
  • Monitor SLAs, return rates, refund cycles and customer satisfaction metrics
  • Improve overall operational efficiency with the aim of reducing fulfilment time to flat 2 hours across all cities we operate.
  • Align inventory planning with brand managers/coordinators
  • Maintain premium service standards aligned with brand positioning by strengthening our own internal delivery fleet

5. Performance & Growth Alignment

  • Align with Digital Marketing Manager & the performance marketing agency on traffic acquisition strategy and CAC targets
  • Improve ROAS and contribution margin benchmarks
  • Ensure marketing investments support profitability objectives
  • Collaborate on funnel optimization and conversion growth initiatives

6. Analytics & Governance

  • Define and govern unified KPIs across e-commerce and marketplace
  • Track contribution margin, CAC, LTV, inventory turns, and return ratios
  • Drive a structured test-and-learn culture
  • Translate data into clear commercial action plans

7. Marketing & Creative

  • Align the E-commerce trading calendar with the marketing team to ensure synchronized campaigns launches, product drops, and promotional initiatives
  • Define and brief all creative requirements such as on-site & off-site banners, CRM, logo skinning, aligning with the trading calendar

8. Team Leadership and Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Lead and develop:
  • E-commerce Tech Manager & Assistant Tech Manager
  • CMS Team
  • Last Mile/Fulfilment Team
  • Build & nurture a proactive, ownership-driven, and execution-focused culture
  • Establish clear accountability frameworks and measurable KPIs
  • Work closely with the Digital & offline/Content Marketing Manager & creative/performance marketing agency to ensure commercial coherence

Profile

  • 8 to 10+ years of progressive experience in E-commerce and digital retail
  • Experience working with reputable, structured, or high-growth E-commerce businesses
  • Proven ownership of E-commerce P&L with demonstrated revenue and margin growth
  • Track record of scaling E-commerce and/or marketplace businesses across markets
  • Strong commercial acumen with deep understanding of contribution margin, CAC, LTV, and profitability levers
  • Experience managing tech, CMS, operations, and cross-functional teams
  • Marketplace expansion experience across GCC, Saudi Arabia, and/or India preferred
  • Mature, commercially assertive leader with strong execution discipline
  • Data-driven decision-maker with strong analytical capability
  • UAE-based candidates preferred, however open to overseas candidates with relevant exposure
