Position Summary

Job Title: Senior Manager Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

Reports To: Digibank & Fintech Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Location: Dubai (UAE) with travel across African markets

Function: Digibank & Fintech Finance

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Purpose of the Role:

The Senior FP&A leads the Digibank & Fintech's performance management, and business analytics functions. The role ensures the delivery of accurate, data-driven financial insights and forward-looking analysis that enable strategic decision-making and optimize profitability across the Group's Digibank and Fintech operations in Africa. The role focuses on financial performance management, pricing, unit economics, commercial decision support, and growth initiatives. You will work closely with Sales, Product, and Operations teams to drive profitability, optimize revenue, and support scalable growth.

To build and lead a world-class FP&A function that provides actionable intelligence to business leaders, ensures financial discipline, and supports sustainable growth through:

  • Reliable budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes;
  • Advanced financial modeling and scenario analysis;
  • Integration of business performance data and financial insights;
  • Partnership with business units to align execution with strategic goals;

The Senior Manager FP&A acts as the strategic financial partner to the Digibank & Fintech CFO and COO by transforming financial data into meaningful business insights and guiding the Group's strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Planning

  • Lead the Digibank & Fintech's annual budgeting and strategic planning processes, ensuring alignment between business plans, operational capacity, and financial targets.
  • Develop and maintain multi-year financial projections.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to translate strategic objectives into quantifiable performance goals and capital allocation plans.
  • Design and implement the Digibank & Fintech's rolling forecast model, ensuring continuous visibility on revenue, cost, and cash outlook.

Performance Management & Analytics

  • Establish and maintain a robust performance management framework with KPIs and dashboards across the Fintech and Digibank entities.
  • Analyze transaction-level profitability, interchange, fees, and processing costs
  • Analyse Cohorts and monitor price elasticity to develop pricing strategy to maximise profitability
  • Work closely with Risk and Credit teams to assess impact of underwriting changes on profitability
  • Partner with Product, Technology, and Commercial teams to measure the profitability and ROI of digital products, channels, and customer segments.
  • Deliver monthly and quarterly management performance reviews to the CFO, and CEO.
  • Build financial models to support strategic decisions such as pricing, cost optimization and resource allocation.

Forecasting, Modeling & Decision Support

  • Oversee the design of data-driven forecasting tools integrating business metrics, customer data, and operational KPIs.
  • Conduct sensitivity, what-if, and stress-testing analysis to support management's response to market volatility.
  • Evaluate and track key financial drivers: margin performance, customer acquisition cost (CAC), lifetime value (LTV), transaction economics, and unit economics for digital products.

Reporting, Insights & Automation

  • Prepare monthly performance reports with insights and recommendations.
  • Develop dashboards to track commercial performance and unit economics.
  • Identify risks, opportunities, and corrective actions to improve financial outcomes.

Business Partnering & Collaboration

  • Act as finance business partner to Business, Operations, Product, and Technology teams to ensure sound financial decision-making.
  • Support product profitability analyses, pricing frameworks, and unit economics optimization for Digibank and Fintech products.
  • Work closely with product team to ensure coherence between strategic financial outlook, liquidity, and actual results.
  • Provide financial guidance during business reviews, contract negotiations, and cost optimization programs.

Governance, Controls & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to Group Finance Policies and IFRS standards.
  • Guarantee the accuracy, integrity, and transparency of management financial information.
  • Prepare analytical inputs for Management, Board Committees and regulatory reporting.
  • Leadership & People Development
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing FP&A team across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Foster a culture of financial rigor, analytical excellence, and business partnership.
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes, systems, and analytical capabilities.
  • Mentor and coach team members, establishing succession plans and performance KPIs.

Candidate Profile

Academic Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration from a top-tier institution.
  • Professional qualification preferred: CFA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or MBA in Finance.

Experience

  • 1015 years of progressive experience in FP&A, commercial finance, business finance within banking, fintech, or technology-driven financial services. Candidates with relevant experience can be considered as head of FP&A.
  • Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership role (regional or group level).
  • Proven track record in multi-country financial planning, digital product analytics, and business partnering.
  • Experience in banking and/or lending products is a strong advantage.
  • Experience in high-growth, data-intensive, and regulated environments across Africa is a strong advantage.

Technical Competencies

  • Mastery of financial modeling, forecasting, and performance analytics.
  • Excellent knowledge of IFRS, budgeting, and management reporting.
  • Strong command of data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Python for finance).
  • Solid understanding of Fintech unit economics, payment flows, and digital banking metrics (LTV/CAC, NPS, cost per transaction).
