Job Purpose
The purpose of the role is to formulate, collaborate and drive a consistent approach towards all sourcing, purchasing and tendering activity within their line of business ultimately ensuring that the value for money is maximised and cost savings are generated. Key measurement of success will be the ability to demonstrate value addition to the business through commercial negotiations, demand management and strategic initiatives.
Key Accountabilities
- Ensure compliance to all Health and Safety policies through correct identification of health and safety requirements in business requirements and contract documents.
- Ensure compliance to all relevant quality, health, safety and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the department to guarantee employee safety, delivery of high-quality products/ service and a responsible environmental attitude.
- Contribute to the development of the Procurement department's strategy and be fully accountable for implementation of the same through action plans that are aligned to EKFC's overall strategy.
- Lead and influence supplier negotiations, recommend supplier selections and implement contracts designed to encourage continual improvement.
- Effectively engage with senior stakeholders on a regular basis to ensure EKFC business requirements are at the heart of all Procurement strategies.
- Create a high-performance culture by ensuring that business and individual objectives are set, cascaded and a focused approach to development and growth is achieved.
- Lead, inspire and develop a talented workforce that supports the strategic and future needs of the business and drives for efficiencies and improves effectiveness.
- Implement effective cost management techniques and initiatives, and drive cost saving strategic initiatives across different customer and product lines to ensure that EKFC achieves best value
- Engage with business and negotiate contractual arrangements with suppliers to ensure that value for money and excellent service levels are maintained and optimised across all expenditures.
- Maximise profit by tendering contracts and negotiating with suppliers to get the best terms of contract
- Develop, manage and implement the introduction of new concepts and innovative products/methodologies that are aligned to industry standards and practices.
- Manage department spend and budget. Leverage high value spend to provide the best ROI for EKFC
- Build and maintain superior supplier relationship management capability within the team and through continuous business improvement
- Build and maintain strong working relationships to gain buy- in and engagement with the key stakeholders
- Actively monitor external business environment and be fully aware of the changes in the inflationary and purchasing environment
- Challenge, enhance and standardize existing procurement practices across all business units to ensure conformity of approach, generate economies of scale and deliver better value for money
- Develop, maintain and regularly update qualified business suppliers database, in line with EKFC business needs, to ensure data on suppliers is easily stored, accessed and retrieved.
- Utilise eSourcing and eProcurement applications to drive optimum performance, efficiency and effectiveness
- Develop and implement supply chain risk assessment and mitigation plans
- Lead effort to ensure all purchasing processes are audit ready
- Provide regular exception and performance reporting on resource and operational issues across all assignment to ensure any performance deviations are addressed in a timely manner.
- Proactively work with departmental budget holders to rapidly identify major procurement opportunities and deliver a series of quick wins that will enhance the profitability of the business.
- Monitor and report on supplier performance and facilitate regular performance reviews with stakeholders in order to assess value and quality of supplier services / products and inform decision-making on future collaborations.
Qualification
Education Qualification:
- Bachelor's Degree (must have)
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred: In supply chain, procurement or relevant management discipline) (preferred)
- Industry qualified within procurement profession preferred (MCIPS or equivalent) (preferred)
Work Experience:
- Years of Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in a relevant field with In-depth experience in managerial position
- Area of Experience: Previous experience working in a Procurement leadership position in a similar role / industry preferably in aviation, airline catering or hospitality.
Skills:
- Technical knowledge of the range of procurement categories.
- Working knowledge of ERP Systems such as Oracle and SAP.
- Demonstrable experience of strategic procurement practices.
- Application of Lean Supply and/or Six Sigma theory and methodology preferred
- Comprehensive knowledge of contractual terms and conditions.
- Experience of working with international supply chain and logistics issues
- Thorough understanding of commercial principles
