Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager with strong exposure to UAE taxation and hands-on experience in financial controlling. The role will support tax compliance and planning while also partnering with finance and business teams on budgeting, reporting, and controls.
Key Responsibilities
1. Taxation
- Lead UAE Corporate Tax and VAT compliance, including registrations, periodic returns, reconciliations, and payments.
- Review contracts, transactions, and new business initiatives from a tax impact perspective and provide clear guidance to management.
- Manage interactions with the Federal Tax Authority (FTA), including responding to queries, audits, and notices.
- Monitor changes in UAE tax laws and guidance; update internal policies and communicate implications to stakeholders.
- Support evaluation of crossborder transactions, intercompany charges, and transfer pricing from a tax risk and efficiency standpoint.
- Assist in tax planning for group entities in other jurisdictions (e.g., withholding tax, PE risk, treaty benefits) in coordination with external advisors.
- Contribute to global tax reporting, including effective tax rate analysis and tax provisioning.
3. Financial Controlling & Reporting
- Partner with the Financial Controller to support monthly closing, reconciliations, and review of key P&L and balance sheet items from a tax and control lens.
- Assist in preparation and review of budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses, ensuring tax implications are properly factored.
- Strengthen internal controls around tax-sensitive areas (revenue recognition, provisions, intercompany, indirect taxes).
- Support statutory audits and internal audits, providing required tax and financial information.
4. Process Improvement & Governance
- Develop and document tax and financial control SOPs, checklists, and calendars.
- Identify opportunities to automate or streamline tax and financial reporting processes in ERP/finance systems.
- Conduct periodic training for finance and business teams on UAE tax requirements and good financial governance practices.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Chartered Accountant (CA) mandatory.
- 8+ years of post-qualification experience in taxation and financial controlling/FP&A, preferably in UAE or GCC.
- Strong, proven experience in UAE VAT and Corporate Tax (compliance plus advisory).
- Solid grounding in accounting standards, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.
- Exposure to international taxation / cross-border structures is a strong advantage.
- Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics, Tally, etc.).
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong technical knowledge of UAE tax laws and regulations.
- Good understanding of financial statements, KPIs, and cost/profitability drivers.
- High attention to detail, analytical mindset, and strong problem-solving orientation.
- Ability to communicate complex tax and financial topics clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
- Proactive, hands-on, comfortable working in a growing/fast-paced environment.
