About The Role
We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Consultant with deep experience in ceramic manufacturing and coating technologies to support the development and scale-up of advanced water membrane production. This role will play a critical part in defining the manufacturing strategy, assessing scalability, and ensuring technical and commercial feasibility. The ideal candidate combines hands-on industrial experience with strategic thinking and will work closely with internal teams and external partners to bring manufacturing capabilities to production scale
This is a 12-month contract position.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and assess the overall manufacturing strategy for ceramic-based water membranes, identifying the most viable techno-economic scale-up pathway
- Evaluate manufacturing processes, including ceramic scaffolds and coating applications on ceramic substrates
- Assess manufacturability, scalability, and industrial feasibility (cost, quality, and operational complexity)
- Analyze and compare manufacturing models (in-house, outsourced, and hybrid approaches)
- Evaluate supply chain robustness and supply security risks
- Define quality assurance processes and ensure compliance with relevant industry standards (e.g., NSF certifications)
- Lead technical discussions with external partners, including manufacturers and technology providers
- Identify and engage potential equipment suppliers and manufacturing partners
- Provide structured recommendations balancing technical, operational, and commercial considerations
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field
- 15+ years of experience in industrial manufacturing, preferably in ceramics, membranes and coating of membranes
- Proven experience scaling manufacturing processes from pilot to industrial production
- Strong knowledge of ceramic processing and coating technologies
- Experience setting up or optimizing manufacturing lines
- Familiarity with quality assurance standards and regulatory requirements in industrial production
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree (PhD or MBA) in a relevant field
- Experience in water treatment, filtration, or membrane technologies
- Strong network of manufacturing partners, coating technology providers, and equipment suppliers
- Experience working with contract manufacturers or external production partners
- Knowledge of advanced coating techniques
